Drake just didn't grow up looking at hip hop the same way most other black people did. It's a competitive genre. He looks at it like it's just something cool participate in. He showed that a long time ago when he was close to tears after Kendricks Control verse.

Dude is a nice, gullible suburban guy. Nothing wrong with that but don't play around with rap battles, sneak diss, then run and hide when you get slapped around. Just stay over there in your billboard chart lane.

Aside from his composure, he does seem detached and/or unfamiliar with certain aspects of hip-hop. It’s that kid thats knowledgeable about it, but never lived it, if that makes sense
