Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Wild thing is you could see this **** a mile away. Ever since that first breakfast club interview where they brought Shotti on to the mic and son was brushing off the antics as nothing more than trolling. You could tell that ***** was just working the kid, and was going along with the s***s as long as it generated money. You had to have known what the play would be when **** came to a head.

And in 2018, *****s STILL talking on phones when it comes to doing dirt?!

I love my city, but more times than none NYC produces a poor grade of criminal, man.

Press play. I made it so the video starts at the ether.

Apparently the Brittany Renner joint did Van Lathan’s podcast and was calling Rem out by name. Remy flamed her with.
it was all good jus a week ago

Nah man Feds a lil different, a lot of logistics to bring one of these type cases so they shoot HIGH percentage shots only

Maybe a plea deal or something

Can playboy Carti sustain that rap style at 35-40 years old? Man is a joke. Production is all he got

I don't think he's rapping...or is even trying to rap.

I think WE have a tendency of boxing all black music as "rap" if it stylistically checks off certain boxes we typically associate with Rap music. I listened to his last album 90% of it was the ***** ad-libbing and chanting. I'm not sure what to call it...but by definition the ***** isn't rapping.

“Chanting” has been a foundation of rap since it’s inception. 80s and 90s guys did it.

I see dudes like Carti as “Let me clear my throat” by DJ Kool type musicians. Or like the 69 boys.
If you wanna dance, do drugs and get high and drink.

These modern day song styles are just a step above the “Tootsie” roll. IMO

I think I found the genre to lump these boys into.
Cause the 69 boys use to chart big, but nobody really considered them emcees

He's likely going to Flip on everyone & get a nice lil plea deal. Hell Bobby had MAD charges & got 7 on a plea (Would have gotten less if he was willing to cooperate). The 93 set been running wild in NYC for awhile so i'm sure the Feds are ITCHING to put a case on those dudes. As long as he tells everything he knows i don't think he's gonna get that many years. Also i keep reiterating this but Elliot Grainge could play a huge part in this. Dude's father has Unlimited connections, depending on how much he values this kid to make him.... he could get real support legally.

With that said, Imagine being in MDC, being a celeb, Who's entire career was centered around provoking people & taunting street dudes..... & then being an enemy of the biggest gang in the NYC Jail System

All this for "Clout"

Carti doesn’t have to. Get your money now and enjoy your time. Dude is under 25. Pretty sure he ain’t worried about his career 20 years from now.

Most rappers fall off. Jim Jones probably the only rapper who’s better in his 40s than his 20s.

Yeah that’s the whole point, it’s like anti traditional rap. Letting the adlibs and chants etc do the heavy lifting. A bunch of ppl have played with this style over the years his thing is he's actually doubling down on it and making it obvious.

He got a bar on there where he said he bought his mama a house off mumbling

Lazzaro argued that Tekashi had not known his his co-defendants prior to hiring them as security and management last year. Prosecutors had little evidence linking Tekashi to the violent incidents, he argued, emphasizing that the rapper fired his team just last week.

“He hired a couple of these people as a manager and security. That doesn’t make you a criminal,” he said.
“He renounced anything to do with two of these people.”
In a surprising twist, the FBI warned Tekashi on Saturday that two of the men the rapper had fired planned to kill him.
They wanted to ‘super-violate’ him,” Longyear said, citing a phrase caught on a wiretap.
“Certain high-ranking members (of the Bloods) had authorized violence against the defendant.”
Tekashi declined the feds’ protection, but marked and unmarked law enforcement continued monitoring him around the clock, Long year said.
When authorities learned Tekashi planned to travel to Foxwoods Casino on Sunday night the FBI decided to arrest him, hoping to prevent a shooting, Longyear said.

Magistrate Judge Henry Pittman considered whether to let Tekashi secure bail through most of $1.3 million he had in three bank accounts, along with other measures. The judge called the decision “difficult,” but ruled Tekashi failed to prove he was not a danger to the community. Tekashi could re-argue that point as soon as Tuesday.
