To me...a run is the height of your celebrity and impact on the market.

Eminem reached his with Encore. He's a legacy artist...so everything he does for the rest of his life will sell...but that wouldn't mean he's "on a run" still.

Jay Z still sells records...would anyone say he's still on his run?

I would say Jay has different runs cuz his albums still make an impact on Hip Hop. 98-03, 06-09. This last album made a impact.

Is a run quality or sales? If it's sales, Em and Jay still on a run. Quality, both ended years ago.

To me it's both. Kingdom was trash but it sold a lot. Jay had commercials and ****. Then the next year dropped a great album. BP3 was aight and he had big songs.

IMO, a run in music doesnt include quality.

Quality is subjective. Someone may think Lil Wayne is awful and doesn't have a good album...but they can't say he didn't go on a a run.

Kind of agree with that. Quality could be amazing, but if no one's listening you can't say they had a 'run.'

You could determine placement of tier based on talent, but to me a run means you were just on fire the way Fetty was a few years ago.
