Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Don’t think I’ve ever heard a juice world song but on this breakfast club interview he sounds like a good/intelligent kid .

I was about to say, the hood don’t buy CD’s etc...

Besides Boosie is making road money and have other projects in the move.

Let birdman tell it...streaming helped the artist more so the label
nah
i think with labels not being the gatekeepers so to speak
and anyone becoming an artist
definitely ruined the label
where as before
labels actually tried to make a good product
since they were putting money on the line

streaming killed the record business imo

Nah it kind of saved the record business tbh

Boosie not selling at all is more indicative of the music business's flawed emphasis on Follower count as a metric for selling records.

Ariana Grande has over 120 MILLION followers and doesn't break 300K first week.

From the biggest artists to the smallest artists, follower count is a terrible way to assess someone's selling potential.

Was going through a mix from 2006 (had to get hype off that Shoulder Lean) and this track finished out the mix. Man I forgot all about this joint. Wayne beast mode.
i said :hat when i seen it too
pressed play
then realized damn
wayne was really trash
but i just ignored it

There are independent acts making 6 and 7 figures because of Streaming. I genuinely think it's helped. Nip actually alluded to it in a pod with rap radar. Russ has as well. People are making money out here.

Autocorrect messed me up. I meant to say there's more money in hip hop.

Danny Boy sung on some of Pac's biggest and best songs. Shame he was reduced to being on American Idol.

All them damn button ups :rollin

Ayyy...dat chubby light skin, white looking ***** can sing lmao. Wasn’t expecting that from him at all. This was funny. Old stone cold Steve Austin looking yo with the Big Boss Belt Buckle looking crazy, and wild confident for no reason :rollin
