listed couple of my favorite Banks off the top. He may have released x amount of songs, but I mess with mixtape banks more than his commercial stuff.
HFM, G-unit album and mixtapes 'freestyles' is my cup of tea with banks.
But you referenced punchlines from said artists didn't age well and I bought up an example...
What I will say is a punchline may have hit harder during that time or era for a certain reason and might not have the same "damn that was hot" response. We can agree on that

Yeah he writes his stuff. He's plugged with the underground LA Rap scene which is why I come across his stuff. His entire tape is almost exclusively LA

But he's painfully mediocre when it comes to the raps to me. He's like a poor man's Mase who raps about the perks of being Diddy's son and it's really hard to grasp and support that narrative.

I think Joe was good enough to be able to do both and change and be versatile.
