Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

I mean we know everybody ain't listening to the same **** but Gibbs, Pusha, them Griselda _'s they get talked about for their music. Vince Staples is more known as a _ that talks about everybody else and dude forces it. That **** is lame. He saw the reaction he got when said "the 90's didn't have a Kanye" and he been reaching ever since.

Bruh those _’s are all damn near 40 too :lol

Of course they moving different than a 25 yr old _ that literally grew up on the internet cracking jokes

Gibbs and Vince have damn near the same exact fanbase

You brought them up. That was your example.

I don't care what age somebody is. I don't give passes to _'s because "oh well he's a internet baby".

Vince Staples ain't a young dummy. Son said he was 26 and he does come off smart but he's quick to say **** about other dudes while he's more of a media personality than rapper. You doing attention wh**e behavior then on top of that your music ain't even much.

I didnt know Vince said the 90s didn't have a Kanye

The 90s didnt need a Kanye.

It was an out of context take from a interview he did w Time magazine like 4-5 years ago. He says a lot of half serious/half playing **** for commentary

The point he was making was just about people loving whatever **** was popping during their formative years first and foremost

First of all, what’s HC, second of all, no they don’t. Y’all gotta stop acting like LBGQT people are different than everyone else. They commit crimes, they do wrong, stop acting like that absolves them from wrongdoings.

When y’all throw the “LBGTQ” term around, y’all use it as if they have diplomatic immunity and are above the law or ridicule. I’m not even talking about sexual preference either. Like their suppose to have their ego stroke and be appeased.

If that’s the case, we need entertainers to appeal to ALL. Straight or gay.
Man ...

It was a joke my dude.

However, are you arguing for the sake of arguing or are you a hypocrite?

If the LBGTQ community are like everyone else, why are you so aggravated when dudes don't have a manly "thug" persona? Why are you mad at these dudes that are questionable?

We get it, being gay and in this genre especially being black was taboo, but times are (have?) changing. That's not to say these dudes live an alternate lifestyle or are trying to relate, but this is not your typical 90's genre.

Again, it was a joke.

I could be wrong, but I dont think Kanye would of have made it in the 90's. Not with discography.
No he wouldnt have. Not a solo act.

Wouldve had to form a group like Gangstarr and sneak in verses like Hi-Tek and Pete Rock would every now and then.

Not even sure he could've done that with just chi rappers. May have gadbto go to NYC for members.

Or he just joins Native Tongues.
