Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Funny how majority folks like the podcast now
Remember everyone was iffy about it
Specially during the marissa days
And when Rory was behind the scenes

I didn't know about the podcast until ES. I'm currently going through the older episodes and it started off slow but it picked up quickly. It just got better when Rory came on which was after a few episodes. I'm not there when Mal came on yet.

Marissa was ****in terrible. All she did was talk about herself and ask for attention. She would even **** on herself for attention.

Rory trash, he’s a clown. Wish they let Ice replace him but he’s doing his own podcast.

the real reason marissa got fired is that time she talked about chewing out asap rocky’s colon while he was on all fours

Why Is he a clown

I was iffy on it til Mal and Rory got on consistently. Mal brought it to legendary levels :lol huge chemistry difference when Joe can't pull rank on the others

I'm finishing this Joyner episode. When Joe is giving younger artist advise. Ak and Nedeska need to be quiet. He's saying some real **** from experience and they'll jump in "But Joe...".

He messed up playing his music while Logic's manager was there. I knew soon as he said "His manager came in the studio" it was gonna be somw idea stealing.

I still don't believe Logic from the area. Nobody in DC or MD rock with him. lol

Just got to this part and I agree. All three of em ought to be takin' notes. But their questions being asked need to be addressed because folks feel that way and need to have that explanation

Joyner a lil annoying. Never been to keen on dudes checkin' Ak but respect goes to Ak because he didn't back down or reword himself. He stood tall on his words.

Many people, lately Waka, have complained that the OGs should have set something up
i

They did, it was different when it went from print to digital. Then corporations and sites popped up with financial investments. Like how Complex started buying up sneaker sites to become relevant in the sneaker community.

It was who had the money and financial support. Look at Genius when money was invested in to it.

AllHipHop is like the only one, and they received financial backing which hurt their brand and now they're back indie

Ak doesn't get anywhere near as much cred as I think he deserves.

for him to have to have taken the career path that he has, be in the various environments he's in, and associate with the people he does, he seems VERY comfortable with himself.

joe stay bassin/pickin on yo and he never seems to lose composure or get too irritated. He's an easy target (for SEVERAL reasons) for a lot of those fake tough guy rappers but he remains even keel and high spirited for the most part.

It's kinda hard to give Ak as much cred as he deserves because his fumblin' and bumblin' is shown more often.

He has become a better interviewer. Joe has definitely helped him in some ways.

I actually think this **** is cool

Migos are the Beatles of rap music and at the height of their careers, they're name dropping the "washed up", "has-been/never-was", "corny, crazy, irrelevant", "had to get a day job" Joe Budden.

In this day and age, these little "beefs" seem to help both sides in getting everyone's attention. That's why Drake low key threw Joe Budden an alley oop. If the biggest rapper in the world puts a light on you, now everyone who's into everything "relevant" has to give you credence now. Joe has parlayed all of his moves outside of rapping into probably being as "relevant" as he's ever been to pop culture. These little viral moments only add to the resume.

Joe pulling up the Offset pop locking tape :rollin

Dusty ***** still mis-classify the Migos as “mumble rappers”
