Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

By nobody you mean teenagers correct? because he jus dropped a year ago & had a #1 album doing 90K first week. so either
A) it was far more than his core base
B) his core base is bigger than what a lot of the "relevant" rappers today amass in total.

Of course his fan base can help him move 90k, Who care about numbers man, 90k is not a huge number but it don’t matter because I’m talking about the music that isn’t good, I’m not talking sales. His albums come and go.

“Pressing buttons” “pressing buddens”

Joe gotta drop a freestyle around new years called “Everyday Struggle 2017” going at all his new enemies :nerd:

This dude Joyner Lucas tryna get his Em feature real bad.

Em is still with the all time greats but you a lie if you can say with straight face that Em is still dope.

The podcast. I'm Your OG is literally the name of his podcast today

Bet. I don’t listen to his podcast.

It’s cringe to watch Everyday Struggle. Let alone a podcast.

In my earlier post, he always sound like he’s mumbling until AK pissed him off.

I’ve always thought it was written majority white

Naw b, back in the 90's The Source, Vibe and XXL had a lot of black and latinos writing articles and covering the music.

Hell, look at the editors back in the day, Seyfu Hinds, Elliott, Danyel, Datwon, Kim Osorio, Reginald Dennis....

When they show the offices of Complex it's disgusting.

Right. Kevin Powell used to do like all the interviews for Vibe. Vibe had a black chick that was interviewing Pac in that long interview on youtube.

Once the internet took over the geeks took over.

That's why I say dudes need to be as protective of the culture as they are about their region, because at the end of the day that won't matter. It will all get erased and exploited.

It's how you get this

Not sure if any of you saw the New Edition miniseries where Gerald Busby was like what are you doing when they were performing in the office

If the demographics in the room were different, do you think you would get this?

I guess he didn't do a good enough job, since they didn't bail him out :smh:

I'm finishing this Joyner episode. When Joe is giving younger artist advise. Ak and Nedeska need to be quiet. He's saying some real **** from experience and they'll jump in "But Joe...".

He messed up playing his music while Logic's manager was there. I knew soon as he said "His manager came in the studio" it was gonna be somw idea stealing.

I still don't believe Logic from the area. Nobody in DC or MD rock with him. lol

despite them being white, i have more trust in Rosenberg & Noah than some of these other "execs" they've tried in the past. However if they are trying to appeal directly to Complex market a lot of people are gonna be lost at Def Jam

Also when i see these offices.... people owe Dame an apology

joyner was a tough listen with him taking forever to answer simple questions and ak machine gunning points while people are still talking

joyner is cold tho and the convo joe and joyner had was good

You're missing out on the podcast. It's NOTHING like Everyday Struggle.
