Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

N_ say “phony pro black” but won’t point to ANY example of modern era black leaders really trying to make a difference. Be so critical but haven’t posted ONE example of someone making a difference.

mans ain’t doing nothing in the hood, or for his people or community, but calling someone a phony “pro black”.
N_ probably won’t even take the trash out for his black elderly neighbors. But wanna criticize. Shut up
@ me or keep it moving sassy *** boy

I’ve done plenty in my community and continue to do so.

dudes have no shame about immediately meat riding a ***** they don’t know from **** to the point of fabricating entire realities for ****** they only know from a website

you a real sicko

People are allowed to grow and it dont hafta be on your time.

no one has to stay the same for you n_’s.

you dont own blackness and you alone dont define what it is or should be.

Every time n_’s wanna enjoy something, its always a smart dumb n_ waitin in the bushes to pop out and talk some 3rd eye open, hot take, bulls***.

a few things here

1) i don't follow Jay Elec close enough to know that he was calling other rappers out, as far as i know i ain't hear the ***** speak in atleast 3 years
2) what eveyone likes is subjective, but you said the album quality is good, the rapping is good & the content is good, so how was it a safety net? he has quality there with or w/o Jay.

I feel like people are upset because he didn't fulfill the hype that they created for themselves over the years. And again there is no shame in getting outshined by one of the greatest rappers in history

If he came out on this **** talking about Maybachs & closing deals with the RothChilds or some **** i could see the issue, but the Jay we got on here was very much an artist in Jay elecs world.

He was talking big a few years ago. Hip hop is still a competitive genre to me. I just feel like if you talking like you this and that you gotta prove it. Then after all these years of nothing you pop up with a album that's posed to be yours but Hov on damn near every song. C'mon man.

Jay Elect is rapping a lot better on songs like Swagger Jackson's Revenge, Dear Moleskine, Exhibit A. If he had been dropped a debut and been somewhat active people would accept this better.

did I say he was?
Or in your rush to defend jay did you not actually understand what was said?

see what I’m talking about dudes be so quick to fall on the sword for jay they can’t even process what’s being said before they already done clicked reply

Jay was saying a lot of pro black **** on Watch The Throne and Young, black and gifted was way before Kendrick got poppin. I ain't about to debate who's really pro black or not that **** is silly. I watch _'s actions go from the there.

Hov has been lowkey saying pro-black stuff in songs his whole career. Dude(s) just going along w/ a narrative.

Listening to Uzi and Lil Baby really reminded me how strong Wayne’s influence is.

you can really hear it on Homecoming and Lo Mein

I feel like I grew up at a perfect time because I’ve been able to catch rap in at minimum 5 different stages of growth and development and each stage had its own big peaks and crazy lows
