Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

I've never seen this video.

What.

The.

****.

Did Hammer dress up as Bettlejuice? Then next scene he dressing like he auditioned to be in Blank Man. Fam aint have no mirrors on this shoot? Nobody in his camp telling him this is NOT a good look AT ALL?

I was about to say something nice in regards to Hammer about it only being a matter of time before somebody takes his blueprint and adapts it for the game today and thrives but nah forget it.

I really thought I had every MC Hammer music video on vhs :lol Welp

Coincidentally, i happened to re-visit some old mc hammer songs on YT.

dude was actually pretty damn dope. And tbh, the music is still enjoyable. I actually been runnin a handful of songs back on “lets get it started” and “please hammer please dont hurt em”. When your able to step back from the vacuum of time when music was released, and listen objectively, you can see the appeal. Presentation was a big part of his success. I see it clear as day now.

he just made it to a level of superstardom where he became a parody for many. But becoming a parody in people’s eyes really only happens with the most successful.

lookin @ that vid that was posted and the too legit vid is a trip bc other than MJ, i dont really remember artists havin their music videos double as full length movies.

hammer was on another level. No wonder n_’s was hatin roun that time. Lol

Bruh, webbie on live right now wit some rubber gloves n a mask on talkin bout corona! Lol

HURRY TF UP! Lol

80's kids know all about the VHS compilations every major music star put out. MJ started the wave. Janet had the full-length "Rhythm Nation" short, New Edition & Bobby Brown had their sets, and Hammer had his. Most of them were second-hand dubs. My folks weren't shelling out no $30 per tape.
