Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

   you Been cooped up in that 18 wheeler cockpit too long. Young boy and Lil Baby legends

NBA young boy ain't acclaimed like that, especially up north.
he ain't get that "NY dudes checking for him" stamp yet.

Lil baby does play here, but Da Baby way more popular.

A Boogie is more mainstream than all of em.

Nah, so Scarface and 2Pac are in the studio recording Smile. They chilling probably drinking and smoking. Pac started just rapping to the camera. They use the actual camera footage of Pac freestyling in the Homies and Thugs video and they ripped the audio and threw it on the song. That's why his verse sounds so bad, it wasn't recorded in a booth. He just freestyling with everyone in the room.

WOW! I love hearing stories about how certain recordings or songs played out. And that was indeed corny of J Prince. Prince is a true capitalist though. He’s all about making money so I definitely see him trying to gain off Master P or PACs popularity

Game's original debut with Dre, Quik, Alchemist is floating around. :pimp:

a Boogie got a better career than both then guys thou...

wrong again

Article obviously is beneficial do to streaming etc. But Lil Baby took off in late 2017. 2 1/2 years later....he’s the “guy” in rap. Pretty much well respected across the board, except for old haters, purist or out of touch dudes. Even the dudes like Maximus Meridius Maximus Meridius , who don’t necessarily rock with him...recognize his standing.

A Boogie hard tho. His 16-17 **** is timeless :smokin

He kinda losing it from a creative standpoint. Lil tjay on his heels too. And Roddy took some ques too

But then again.... I wouldn’t expect you to know anything about today’s rap...especially outside the tri state :lol.

That Lil Baby & Drake track is bigger than anything A Boogie has dropped. Got so much rotation on radio out in California.

Hahahaha Hahahaha Does he talk about why he hates the Geto Boys albums in his book? In the interview below he ranks all the Geto Boys albums last and says he hated the times recording em.

He talked a lot about the Geto Boys.

- Scarface always wanted to be a solo artist but J Prince signed him and told him, you gotta join the group and your solo will come later.

- He said he didn't like Grip It because they were basically dropped off at J Prince's ranch and had nothing to do but make music and they didn't know each other.

- He didn't like We Can't Be Stopped because he was working on his solo album and then that got delayed and everyone was trying to do their own solo ****. I think each member has three solo songs on that album and Red left the group which he said hurt them bad. He also hated how they handled Bill getting shot and taking that pic for the cover.

- He didn't like Til Death Do Us cause Willie D left, he said it wasn't a Geto Boys album without him and at the time he wasn't getting paid for any of that and he was trying to work on his second solo. Also he doesn't have any issues with Big Mike, never did.

- He said The Resurrection is their best album by far and it's a great album.

- I can't remember what he said about Da Good Da Bad Da Ugly or The Foundation

- He said Willie D was on a phone call and was mad that Scarface's first album said Scarface of the Geto Boys on the cover and they weren't getting any money and he thinks that's part of why Willie left.

- He also said that majority of his time at Rap A Lot he wasn't happy. He was dealing with depression and wasn't getting paid. Every time he asked for paperwork they had an excuse. We fired this guy so now it should be good, it's being sent to you and all kinds of excuses.

- My Mind Is Playing Tricks On Me was a solo Scarface song. J Prince brought it and some Geto Boys songs to Virgin or Priority (I can't remember) and they loved the song, thought it was a smash. They made it a Geto Boys song.

- He was high as **** the whole time he recorded The Diary, said he was shocked how good it came out and the praise it got.

- He loved The Untouchable album and thought after the success of that and his other albums he was gonna finally get paid and he didn't.

Yeah, basically he didn't realize J didn't look at him like brother, he looked at him like a check until he went to jail in 2010. Said he called him from jail asking for help and J Prince was basically like let me see if you got anything coming to you. Then said some **** like, you should have came with me to the Awards show.

Lil Baby literally been mainstream for about a year, two years MAX and he’s LAPPED dudes!! He running circles around his peers and even legacy acts. Dude is NICE! IDK WTF Ninja is on. Lil Baby wrecking s**** out here.

Yeah. They ain’t solid AT ALL! Scarface carried your label for decades! Face should be well off and eating.

This low key like a Wayne/Baby scenario. I always thought J Prince and Face had a good relationship. Color me wrong. Smh

Y’all stay pocket watching. WHAT DOES REGGAETON MONEY HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING!!!

Dale Earnhardt Jr was the most popular and lucrative nascar driver for years.... he never won races.

Tom Brady was paid outside the top 10 QBs

Tim Duncan was also paid low. Kobe lost 2 MVPS to Steve Nash...

Popularity and most money don’t equate to best!

I never knew they had any type of friction until I bought his Deeply Rooted album and there wasn’t anything at all about Rap-A-Lot in there. I assumed it was just a way for him to strike out on his one after being with them for so long, not that there was bad blood or anything

NY pushing trash like Fivio Foreign    ******/autistic rap. Dudes suck

Casanova can’t do s*** solo to save his life. He makes all his songs challenges :lol :lol

Ironically, he just dropped a song with Jackboy but NYC ain’t checking for the south....
