Watching season 2 of Wu Tang American Saga is kind of mind blowing.

I thought I knew pretty much everything there was to know about the Wu history. But I had no idea that the Protect Ya Neck beat we all know and love wasn’t the original beat they recorded to.

I’ve never seen a scene that does a better job of representing what I imagine it must have been like for a producer to create a sample-based beat in the early 90s.

…it’s brilliant.
