Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Brooklyn Public Library outdid themselves with that Jay exhibit and they’re releasing library cards for every Jay album cover. I should check out the exhibit and maybe hit up Sunday Smorgasburg but I’m a burnout and probably won’t do it.

I got the Wild Style library card from NYPL

Queens Public Library did a Queens library card based on Shirt Kings in Jamaica. But BKPL took it to the next level.

What are your must have hip hop albums from the 90's ?

Thanks I got most of those, but don't have any of The Roots, EPMD or AZ

My favorite Roots is Do You Want More

EPMD - Business Never Personal
De La - 3 Ft High, Buhloone
Black Moon - Enta Da Stage
Fugees - The Score
Ice Cube - Death Certificate
Tribe - Midnight Mauraders, Low End Theory
Scarface - The Diary
MF DOOM - Operation Doomsday
Public Enemy - Fear Of A Black Planet
DJ Quik - Way 2 Fonky, Born And Raised
Pete Rock & CL Smooth - Mecca & The Soul Brother
Smif N Wissun - Dah Shinin
Common - Resurrection
Brand Nubian - One For All
Redman - Whut?
Cypress Hill

Don’t think I had ever seen the Jay feelin it video, why does it have damn near all different verses lol

They're intertwined for me, because I grew up hearing both.

Reasonable Doubt leaked about a month before it actually came out.

sort of like how I heard this first

and it took me a bit to get used to the Mary version

Let me know when the Library cards with the album covers of Hov come out

They already started releasing them at different BK libraries

I miss the mixtape era, especially when everything moved to the internet and you didn't have to play the exchange thing. Oh you have that Clue, can I borrow that.

It was just so many mediocre indistinguishable rappers rapping.

RIP Stack
