Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

I posted in here a while back about how wayne destroyed hip hop and a certain segment of the generation after him. I wasnt eloquent and didn't type it all up in a hundred tweets tho 🤣🤷🏾‍♂️
I been telling people this bozo was wack in real time for years. They only started listening in 2016

Might be in the minority, but I didn’t hate Busta and Coi Leray flipping the old Jay and Foxy.

I like that Busta been consistent about working with the younger generation.

It was gonna be flipped anyway, at least they actually rapped lol

Yeah I saw people in comments not ******* with it

Not gonna play it over and over but At this point for that type of record it’s like what do ****** want  I was surprised they had actual rapping and structure to it too at least on Coi behalf lol

I was a cash money/squad up/carter /dedication eras wayne fan. A certain demographic got ahold of the man and the art and it was the beginning of almost two decades of tomfoolery and bamboozling

He cashed out as the eat ***** and skateboarding dude and it all went left lol

If you go thru that thread it’s crazy how many things are so commonplace now that he started. Someone who was a teenager after his reign ended wouldn’t even peep it.

It was a running joke on campus that a “certain demographic” loved Wayne and this was like 5 years after it was concretely over for him to us lol

It doesn’t sound bad cause Busta can actually rap and so can Coi Leray when she’s not trying to sound like a female Young Thug/Playboi Carti. Imagine if Lil’ Yachty and Saweetie attempted this. Would’ve been a disaster.

saw a top 3 wu member question going around a while back that I didnt get a chance to answer

Cappadonna
Ghost
Masta Killa

when masta killa said on triumph

Light is provided through sparks of energy
From the mind that travels in rhyme form
Giving sight to the blind
The dumb are mostly intrigued by the drum
Death only one can save self from
This relentless attack of the track spares none

:smh:

severly underrated

Id say meth is one of my least faves for some reason
also rza, as far as rapping

Gunna don't need NONE of these ****** though. Yeah he may take a lil hit without the Baby & Future collabs, but this ***** got real hits. Solo platinum singles. Y'all are acting as if the masses have street morals. The majority of people don't give a **** about that. Gunna makes "vibey" music, and them don't people don't care.

I watched Kanye support trump, say slavery was a choice, and **** on black people, only for them same people to buy his merch and listen to his music. ****** thought Meek was done after the Drake beef. He came back with good music. Gunna ain't going nowhere as long as the music hits. All of YSL, including Thug brother took the same deal, but ****** fake mad at Gunna.

His female fans ain't going nowhere. Them white folks ain't going nowhere. Gen Z don't give a **** about snitching. They openly embrace all type of weird **** to me. Musically, 69 isn't in the same stratosphere. Gunna is an actual artist with a real fan base. 69 was a troll. I'm not a street ***** and I don't take none of these ****** serious. If the music is good, I'll listen. You bout to see a whole lot of this.

I'm not a Gunna fan so it don't really matter to me either way but it just looks funny when a supposed crip snitched on his "brothers". I'm not saying if people should or shouldn't listen to him I don't get into that but it's definitely a weird time.

If somebody from the Dogg Pound snitched on Snoop the rap world wouldn't accept them back. If somebody from G-Unit snitched on 50 same thing. Maybe Gunna's star is bigger than anybody from those camps, I don't know.

I think that it’s still affecting him. We don’t see the whole totality of his decision or more so his “mistake.” Gunna might have to put on a brave face daily for all we know.

How it compares to other artists(69 or any other one) situation and circumstances is a whole other thing.
