Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Joe literally came out da same punchline factory as Fabolous...

We were talking about their careers

How doesn't he close the show with this ?

His set list left a little to be desired. Intro doesn't have to be the first song.

Joe got overshadowed by better rappers , it's pretty simple. Jay shut it down completely for like 8 years with consistent summer bangers and albums. I've never listened to a Joe album and was never a fan but he just didn't have that type of juice. And if I can remember his beat selection was type trash. If you can't compete with Jay, Dmx, 50, Nelly, Em, Ye it's not happening.

Imo Wayne is the most improved rapper of all time. From the hot boy days to his mixtapes, he got way better and seemed like he took lyrics seriously. That goat title was always a joke to me, Jay was decades ahead of him. Just look at the rappers co-signing C3, all trash. None of em are even close to the skill of Wayne. They definitely took his blueprint so they should pay homage for that I suppose.

Why do people take about 69 serious, he's a troll and a horrible rapper with 4 songs that sound identically with no hooks. I blame Ak and his toxic fan base, for giving all these rappers a platform for growth. They better be thankful he created something out of nothing.

Lastly Ebro is a pawn for blanco media. He has no power or control over anything. He's a worker with zero creative control pushing buttons while playing trash non-NY rap for years now. What did you expect. Create a platform and take control, this is 2018.

Joe had a chance if he wanted to make music like Pump It Up and Focus. But he didn't want to make that type of music. So why would Def Jam make him a priority? You have to force someone to make someone make songs that will make them pop? Everybody else it comes mostly natural, they have a formula or they pull the fans to them.

Man y’all had to be like 13 years old at his “lyrical peak” to think any of that

I've been saying that for a decade.

Been playing We Got It For Cheap Vol 3 all morning, forgot how great this was. One of my favorite projects then and still is today. So many shots at Wayne and Baby

Juvenile is the best and always will be. BG was real nice though. Wayne was always the worst out of all four.

Juve and BG left over money. I can't remember what happened to Turk, did he leave or did Baby stop ****in with him cause he was always in trouble.

Yeah there’s no way Joe was gonna make a career out of those types of songs  **** just seemed too awkward for him and he would’ve prolly been even more depressed in the long run

Once he started dropping the Mood Muziks I think it became really clear the type of music he excelled at

I think Joe would have gone down as a legend, because he would have killed himself.
