I swear, I'm not about to commit suicide. I'm just curious.

I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last night it made me wonder. We're born into a world filled with temporary attachment. We grow used to ourfamilies, friends, pets, and other sorts of relationships... but they never last because death is imminent. Every minute that passes get you 60 second closerto your time being up. So my question is what's the point? We love people who are bound to leave us one day.

I've never had to deal with death. I can only recall attending one funeral in my entire life; my grandfathers... but I hardly knew him so I wasn'teffected by his passing (plus I was about 9 or 10 at the time). So now, I'm 20 years old and I'm attached to all of my family members, my dog, and mygirlfriend... but I'll lose them and the thought of that gets me ridiculously down.

What do you guys think?

Let me be the first to get the RIP out because I know someone was going to do it

I used to think that like (matter fact I think I wrote that exact same thing about every second we have means we are dying) until I read this book by EckhartTolle. You should look into it.

Nah not yet. I usually read books start to finish, but I'm reading this one little by little because its some heavy stuff.

I'm not going to get into everything that I could on this topic but just wait until you have a wife and kids and you'll have reason to live.

For what? Its not like you can take the money with you when you pass.

I live for LIFE itself...

Sometimes I experience stuff that just amazes me... It's hard to explain, but it's those moments that make me wanna get up everyday and live life tothe fullest.

Don't doubt your ability to provide a decent answer. Try it.

I'm not. I'm just saying that there are so many questions and answers for this subject that no matter how many good answers are given, there willalways be more questions to ask. It's the type of thing where you understand someones answer, but then another questions comes to your mind and whenthat's answeres more questions come up.

My answer to the OP's question is that if you don't care about dying then your being selfish because you're not hurting yourself but insteadyou're hurting the people around you who love and care for you.

Just the way its supposed to be. Imagine a life of not making those relationships and having those bonds with people. Would be a pretty boring life in myopinion. It wasn't your choice to be brought into this world, I dont think its your choice when you go out either. I see your point and I can see whereyoure coming from too. But it is what it is and ill be living my life until its my time to go

technically? Reproduce and die.

Anything else is just icing on the cake

And besides, there might be more to existence than this.
