RUN with US on INSTAGRAM #NTrunning (NikeTalkRunning)

2016 goals:

1. I totally stole Ray's 2016km goal.

2. Finish the Boston Marathon without walking (and hopefully sub-4 hours).

3. Finish a race with 2000+ entrants in the top 5% overall.  I'm nowhere near good enough to win one.

Also, I have a good friend recovering from her 5th major knee surgery (and this was the most major of them).  I want to run a race with her, and be there when she feels like she's complete again.  This one has been toughest on her emotionally.

Any treadmill runners in here? I know it's boring to some but others have no choice but still want to log those miles.

So what do you treadmill runners use? Just your phone pedometer?

I use to use those Nike+ pods that goes to the shoes and syncs up to the phone/watch but those are long gone.

Damn actually feels like those were ages ago. :lol

If I have to use the treadmill, I just use the time/distance readout on the treadmill, and enter it into Nike+ when I'm done.

Is there any runners in here that use insole inserts instead of the default ones that come in the shoes. Been having shin splints since I've return to running again. I wear all sorts of runners so it's not because of a particular shoe. Being I have very low arches I've been looking at the Spenco Ironman trainer orthotics inserts. Wanted to know if there any good or if I need them.

illustrayt illustrayt what app do you use to create your IG videos? I see flipagram, but it looks like it puts a watermark in the corner of the video

I still haven't logged a RUN with NIKE+ in 2016 :{. I'm trying to assign sneakers for each month haha

So far, I have these assigned...

- Vomero4s
- Vomero10s
- Peg30s
- Flyknit Racers
- Flyknit Chukkas
- LR3s
- Hoka Cliftons

It was actually a pleasure to run in the Flyknit Chukkas! :smokin

Fitbit's color display GPS/HRM watch. I doubt that it can be partnered with NIKE+, but it costs less than Garmin's 235 and 630...

This is pretty dope! It's a similar idea to the hand wrap that I used to use before my Garmin.

SHIFT.

I was gonna get down with this but it's like 15-25 degrees out when I have time to run. Idk how some people can run in this weather. I know you gotta layer up but come on that's still not going to stop the cold from creeping in. Anything below 45 degrees and I'm not running that day.

Anyone here run with an Apple Watch?

I've ran 500+ miles with mine.

Without a phone, the watch will not be accurate at all. it's useful as a heart rate monitor for running, and for seeing text messages while running :lol. It can also sync with the Nike+ app to show you your heart rate throughout your whole run afterwards. You can also put music on it, but I just use my phone's.

Running in 30 degree weather isn't bad for me. All I wear is a Nike hyperwarm long sleeve, element hoody, hyperwarm tights, and jogging pants over. Depending on the wind, I won't need any face protection, but it's very easy. I don't even feel cold with that setup, even felt too warm with it.

Pretty much this.  I'll run in the pants or the tights, and double up closer to 20 degrees.  I do have a balaclava, though - I seem to run into the wind no matter which direction I go.

Anything under 40 and I never ran. My knees ache in the cold.

Hi everyone,

I'm not too sure if this is the right place to ask, so I apologize in advance if there is a different thread for this.

But, has anyone seen these Wildhorse 3s in stores? I stumbled upon it looking up some trail running photos on instagram, and I'm obsessed with them.

This is by far the best colorway of the Wildhorse I've seen yet, I'm really wanting them. Are these a "PE" exclusive for Professional Nike Runners, or are these available somewhere to purchase? Thanks in advance guys

^ The person in the second pic is actually one of our own. :Nthat You can try to message him about them if you haven't yet.

Really liking the first Lunartempos. Only 16 miles on them so far, but they are really light, responsive, but still pretty well cushioned up front. I usually need about 75 miles before I can tell if they're good for another 300 though.

NDC just put the v2 on ID, and it has plenty of fade and reflectivity options...

wanna start running but i have flat feet and once i start i feeling pain in my knees the only way i can run is playin ball but i want to be about that marathon  life any suggestions

My advice is to go to your local running store so they can evaluate what is best for you then they can provide the best suggestion for your feet.

If no local running stores near you, from what I understand, flat footed runners need stability shoes so do a quick research on those. Plenty of stability running shoes out there these days.

I also vaguely remember that barefoot running is also a good option, so some of Nike Free running shoes might be a good alternative?

Nice, Tim! I think I'm going to order an iD with the fade. Do you go up a 1/2 size in them?

I've been tinkering with my vivoactive lately. I love that you can customize your running metrics like PACE AVERAGE, cadence etc.!

My third screen has the Virtual Pacer and Pace Alarm, which change a certain color if you're within the range or out. Both can be modified :smokin

Of course, customized Watch Faces... My favorites are the BigFaceExtra and Back to the Future!

The Garmin app also has a much more in-depth metrics than NIKE+ from your run. I'm loving it! I still want the FR235 though because of the HRM feature! hahah

I think I'll pass for now simply because of the $150 price tag, but I must say, I have worn my pair for 3 days straight, about 10 hours/day, and can't get enough of them. Even threw them in the drier after my first run in the pouring rain, just so I could get back to wearing them the rest of the day! I can't say they're any better than LRs since I don't own any, but these are just SO comfy to wear around. Plus I've felt the need to break them in a bit with the toe box up front being so low. But with today's run, I have no issues in the toes anymore, and I am wearing my regular size 11. So maybe if you need more vertical room at the very tip of the toe box, then go up a 1/2 size, but I think they're fine otherwise. Oh, and since there are no v2 reviews that I have read, this all assumes that they fit the same as the v1.

Nice watch by the way! Love the pace alarm color idea!

Yeah, $150 is pretty steep for them. Hopefully, Nike messes up a future order, so I can get some sort of a %off discount :lol. I'm hoping ebates has a bigger return... Thanks for the info!
