Zynga is another app developer struggling, only places on the up and up consistently are cafes and food spots.those making 100k are already struggling to keep up with the wealthy. there's still those guys making 200k that will pay for it. until the bubble bursts completely, there are still a lot of folks willing to pay these prices. i do see it starting to slow down. work in the mission and a lot of these smaller tech companies are starting to slow down
heck, even twitter is trying to lease out all that office space in their big HQ

“It’s a relatively recent phenomenon,” said Patrick Carlisle, chief market analyst for the San Francisco-based Paragon Real Estate Group. “It is unusual” given that the city’s apartment market has seen “frenzied demand” over the last few years. But as that demand—though still strong—has eased up partly because of a hiring slowdown, apartments have started to offer incentives to prospective tenants such as a rent-free month.
Fap sessions. Can't even fap in peace if you ive like that
I'm surprised Zynga is still around.Zynga is another app developer struggling, only places on the up and up consistently are cafes and food spots.
This was the main driver I tried to move to ATL or Dallas/Htown a couple years ago. I figure $80k would be cool as a single with no debt. You can literally get a loft with floor to ceiling windows, hardwood floors, etc. in the heart of Atlanta for about $1500/month (if that). Google skyhouse Atlanta for an example of what I'm talking about.
I can definitely see the real estate bubble bursting in the Bay Area in the coming years. People never learn. They assume this type of economic growth will continue into into perpetuity and it won't. Once the growth stops who are they gonna sell their $4,000/month 1BRs to?
yep. kids just want to live in "the city"
it's a bunch of folks in their 20s trying to get their "FRIENDS" on
went back to a chick's place and she was staying in a closet and it felt weird "hanging out" btw, this lady was 30 :x
Lol these aren't even hipsters. Hipsters died in 2011. I wouldn't even consider what I see hipsters. Hipsters don't work in tech. Let's not forget sf was like this before. And then boooom. Everyone bounced. Sf in the early 2000s was a semi ghost town. We shall see.
Moved back to SF almost 4 years ago and yeah I make about $60-65k ish in the city and am considered Low income no joke, Anything under $75k in SF is considered low income. We live in a cool loft in the Dogpatch and have a good rate locked in from over 3 years ago and my daughter's mother I live with makes about 3 times my income but things are going to be interesting now. She wants to stay in the bay but move to rent a house in Sunnyvale. I'm pushing to either move to the Phoenix Metro area, Seattle or Austin
Crazy how 3 years ago makes such a difference. My homie has a place in the Dogpatch as well about 3 years ago. Got it for $650K for a one bedroom which I thought was insane and HOA is $600 too. He's going to flip it soon for $1.2M or higher and he's going to buy a place in Saratoga, CA.
Renting is a good idea though. Seattle won't get you that much more but Portland for sure you can see a difference in your money.

Welp, I better tell my wife that now. Her dreams will be crushed lol.Seattle is getting expensive too man. It's not Bay Area bad (and it won't ever get to that stage) but prices are going up and traffic is getting bad. Also, that weather bruh. Summer in Seattle is beautiful; sun is out til 9:30 pm and its gets hot but not too hot. The other 9 months of the year are hot garbage consisting of rainy, gloomy days for weeks on end. There was a month long stretch where I didn't see the sun at all. not once.

I live 20 minutes south of San Francisco, and I pay $2550 for a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. There is no way I can afford to live in San Francisco. I am content, but am frustrated knowing that I will never be able to afford to own a home in this area that I am living....where as if I made the amount of money I make in another city, I would have owned a house a decade ago.
With everyone recommending moving to ATL, Florida and Texas, the entire US will be living there in no time
Are you married? Do you have mobility with your job? Is so GO! I recommend Atlanta, Denver, Austin, Jacksonville.

Well there are other options like living in one of those old single occupancy hotels with the bums in tenderloin.
