I enjoyed scarface, but it's hammy and cartoonish so it doesn't really matter what direction it takes. Also it was a remake of something even more cartoonish. Only people who don't really get good films feel this is untouchable. It's very touchable, probably even will be improved upon with the Coen bros and MBJ if that rumor is true. Maybe call it something else though, the story isn't unique.

People just liked the violence, that's what it really comes down to. Never really liked it either.

Scarface is up there for gangster classics. If someone doesn’t like it so be it everyone’s entitled to their own opinions but scarface has a great legacy there’s no denying that

Scarface is the McDonald's of gangster movies. Definitely not the best but there's still something good about it. Prime Michelle Pfeiffer. Al Pacino hamming it up. Blood galore. It gets the job done.
