***SF Giants 2009 Season Thread (88-74)***

Do you guys think it's a good idea to bring up that young kid Guzman from the minors and hit DH when the Giants head to Seattle? I would have suggested toallow Bengie to be the DH...I did that in MLB 09:The Show and that didn't turn out well. Haha.

I mean, it can't hurt. It beats having Rich Aurilia as a DH (and Richie is my dude). Damn that reminds me of the days when Shinjo was the DH in the WorldSeries.

Lowry Set For Surgery, Likely Done With Giants
19th May, 2009 - 1:04 am
Mercury News - Noah Lowry is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove the first rib on his left side on Tuesday. Recovery time is estimated at three months, leaving little hope he will pitch this season.

Specialists recently diagnosed Lowry with thoracic outlet syndrome, wherein nerves and/or blood vessels are compressed as they pass between the neck and shoulder.

Assuming Lowry does not return this season, he likely will not pitch for the Giants again. The club almost certainly will decline a $6.25 million option on Lowry for 2010, making him a free agent.

Man, that is sad. I was really hoping that he would be able to pitch sometime later in the year. I really hope he makes a comeback on the field, whether it would be with the Giants or someone else.

Hell, they gave Jesse Foppert a second chance, hopefully they would consider Lowry another as well.

I think the Giants would give Noah one more chance because that's who they are as an organization.

Looking at it, they gave Russ Ortiz another stint. Rich Aurillia, I think is on his third stint.

If my pitching staff was good 1 through 1, I would welcome anyone down there in 2010 as well.

Why? He's pitched pretty well today. Not his best, but he's limiting the damage.

People are so quick to hate on Zito when he's arguably been the second best starting pitcher in his last six starts.
