Shooting Reported at Las Vegas Casino Hotel

The wild thing is schools in the hoods have had all of these security precautions since the 1990s (maybe even earlier), maybe the rest of the word needs them.

Yall suburban dudes, do yall have metal detectors in schools?

Exactly it doesn't take that much time to pass a couple hundred high school students through a metal detector

That 4chan post I mean who cares if there is more security at places and metal detectors...it's actually what they talked about on the news the morning after it happened that other countries have metal detectors everywhere

Im down with metal detectors

All you have to do is use electrical tape for metal detectors. It won't detect your gun/knife.

NT fam, I'm lowkey scared. I'm going to a show at the Downtown Las Vegas Convention Center in a few weeks. It has a similar layout as Route 91..outdoor stage in the middle of Casinos. I know I shouldn't let something like this dictate my life but I feel like the block is still hot, so to speak. I'd feel paranoid and not having fun the whole time. I hate terrorism.

i guess there's always a chance for a copycat killer but it's exceedingly rare.

I'm not going to change anything about what I do except maybe glance up at windows more.

I personally think the gun issues in this country are more due to culture issues than anything. Culture wise this country loves violence at times. Other countries have high gun use but don’t have the issues we have here.

Agreed. And the odds of us miraculously having a culture shift are slim to none. It begins with our "leadership."

they pulled over some dude in tennessee with a gang of guns...

Cops Pulled Over a Man and Found an Arsenal of Automatic Weapons in His Car

Deputies found Scott Edmisten, 43, of Johnson City, carrying a .357-caliber Magnum, a loaded .45-caliber semi-automatic, a .223-caliber fully automatic assault rifle, a .308-caliber fully automatic assault rifle, more than 900 rounds of ammunition, and survival equipment, Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal said.

“It’s not connected to any of the other national incidents, but timing obviously was a concern,”

Did he have food and water though?

I don't believe that nonsense

Everyone in these threads becomes some political figure all of sudden...but 59 people are dead and many more injured and traumatized it should be more about them instead of all these conspiracies and gossip...let the people rest in piece, find out why and how it came about...not sure I will believe what the news says either way the killer is dead they can say anything and the world will probably believe it

The 4chan post just says what they tell you to look out for daily on the news since 2001 (minus the 3 black vans part) Vegas is a big city people coming in and out 24/7 ..it's obvious we need more security if these things keep happening world wide

Basically ban lethal bullets for civilians but permit them only for military, police and game hunters

Everyone else permitted rubber bullets or a new type of non lethal bullet. Yes rubber bullets can injure or kill in a certain way, better if something else were made

man been in a rat hole on reddit about this. Seeing pics of the shooters head post gun shot...that vid of the dude trying to check if people were alive after the shooting

heart wrenching

Where did you find that?

I don't think anyone in here is off that, "Don't tread on me, AT ALL," type of viewpoint ... But I do personally agree with that way of thinking given our current political climate, i.e. I wouldn't put it past a future government to try and manipulate society in a manner akin to slavery ...

The point is, you can't just say gun control is needed, NOW! ... First off, you need specifics and second off those specifics need to demonstrate that your proposal would have stopped the massacres that have taken place ...

Outlawing the bump stocks is a possibility but again, do you want Trump's folks having them and you not in some not so distant future?

I personally preferred Trump to Hillary but I damn sure want my guns if either are in office ... And that goes for all future administrations ... I understand how that sounds and might seem to be an extreme viewpoint, but nothing ever happens until it does ... On average, 1 million home invasions occur annually where there is an altercation ... That's plenty enough for me to feel it is not my right to tell someone they shouldn't have whatever protection they want under the current laws ...

If you know you shouldn’t, don’t. There are thousands of other ways to die besides an act of terror. Do you spend time worrying about those as well to the point where you don’t enjoy shows?

Going to Vegas for my birthday this month. I’ll be damned if I let fear get in the way of me living my life. Tomorrow’s not promised as it is already.

So anything that can be bought illegally should just be made legal then?

If that's the case, then why not legalize murder and rape? If a murderer wants to kill or a rapist wants to rape, they'll just do it illegally, so what's the point of making it illegal in the first place?
Not saying that, just saying you push for increase gun restrictions will make it more difficult for law abiding citizens to own guns. Once the government disarms us, how will we protect ourselves? We wouldn't even be able to fight the government if they want to pull some funny business. We should be looking at mental health.... owning a gun isn't the same as killing and raping. You def wilding

It won't. It's like the mention of more regulations and people move straight to the rigorous process. If considering a possible gov't tracked gun registry similar to how what cars you own are tracked and recorded it's a few additional steps that would only make things more difficult once you get to a certain threshold. Owning 40+ guns to me is OD and around 10-12 you should have to be reviewed in explaining why you have so many weapons, what they are currently being used for, how often you train with all of them, how are they stored, etc

Again with the "take the guns away"/ disarm the public talk. Most aren't expecting to be able to disarm the people let alone actually suggesting it. Again, those people who say take the guns away are the MASSIVE minority.

If anything there would be way more security there now so you'd be more protected

How would anything you just have layed out stopped this or previous mass shootings?

What about anything I said that lead you to think I'm making 100% guaranteed solutions/preventative options?

But if this shooter continued his path of being a law abiding citizen he would have been limited to 10 guns or so before being vetted on if he should own additional weapons.

Who said anything about "disarming" citizens?

He only used 2 though.

What mass shooter used more than 10 weapons during his act or acquired them 3rd party from someone who has more than 10?
