I'll speak on the issue because I've lived in Vis Valley all my life (which is just on the other side of the freeway, parallel to Hunter's Point, where this incident took place).
Been on all the 9 buses, the now retired 15, and still catch the bus when I head out on the house.
The actions in the video are extreme, but the general actions are not. It is not to say that I havent seen a fair amount of fights between teens, but it aint rare to see the youngsters, be it black, latino, and samoan, mess around with asian elders and other teens just for fun of it. No reasoning, no prior beef, but simply because they can. Seen kids jacked for their stuff, ganged up on, and even punked from their seats.
It's disheartening both because %%%# like this takes place on the buses I catch and in my community, but mostly because I'm a teacher, and have dealt with similar like kids in school settings. I see a video like the one OP posted, and I got to believe that one day, those kids will get their %%%# together and be a better human being.

I'm absolutely disgusted after reading that article and watching that video. It's sad that the son can't help but blame himself for his father dying, I'm sure I would feel the exact same way. As harsh as it may sound, people like these kids truly deserve to die with no questions asked. If you have the mindset to perform such ruthless acts with no inhibitions, then there's no chance that that type of person will ever have any true remorse. It's like if you were capable of doing that in the first place, how could you ever be sorry for it? I'm sure These people will never contribute anything to society.

So did the first vid happen in SF or Oakland? Either way it's a shame the got to pick on someone thats not their size. Sad to see some of these things happen in Oakland and I love Oakland.
