Well, there's your problem...you got eggplant sub from a deli....i'll give you points for being brave enough for getting an eggplant sub from a bodega

, but if you want the real deal you'd go to an actual Italian restaurant (which each borough has on each block as well)

@ the amount on misinformation in this thread. NY has DOES have Popeye's, Krispy Kreme, Wal-Mart and TONS of 7-11's. I don't even know where homie got the idea that NY doesn't have 7-11's. they're literally everywhere in NY
