I said this same thing back when Prada came out with the blackface trinkets....
Europeans aren't fully aware of the cartoonish depiction of Africans/African-Americans during the 1600's and on.
They are doing these designs ignorantly without any knowledge of America's dark and sick history.
The Pokemon you're referencing is Jynx.didnt that happen with Pokemon originally? I forgot which Pokemon but it had big lips and was black but they ended up changing the color of the Pokemon entirley
In 2019? Hell noI said this same thing back when Prada came out with the blackface trinkets....

aight the whole pokemon thing is definitely people being hyper sensitive and overly victimized. you mean to tell me that a cartoon character is offensive? when i was growing up i never saw the correlation between Jinx and black people, until someone pointed it out TODAY. i swear some people bring awareness to the wrong thing just to feel victimized smh.
@ Honestly believing they didn't know any better. The Pokemon you're referencing is Jynx.

RightAlso, the Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy have built a massive following based on their INTENTIONALLY offensive portrayals of people and things.
Black ppl really gotten smarten up, at this point these companies are most definitely doing this intentionally. There's no way this keeps "accidentally" happening over and over again.

Oh yea, because those are the ONLY ways in which a visual can be offensive.i didnt say every single cartoon ever made. i'm talking about the damn Pokemon. how did a Pokemon make you feel discriminated? was it segregated from the other Pokemon? was it being targeted by the police more than any other Pokemon? was it being oppressed by the "white" Pokemon? what was it?
when i was 8 or 9 or however old i was when i watched that show, i didnt think "oh Jinx is a black person". its a ****ing Pokemon ffs.
anyone getting mad that Super Mario is a white dude with a mustache? naw. not everything is racist smh.
Again, you are giving folks (ignorance) WAY too much credit.black face is a american institution that was birthed in da Broadway circles in da late 19th early 20th century.. there's definitely a cultural disconnect there once you leave da US.
