that's a great story - who woulda thought someone on NT went to HS with a kiwi now playing in russia.... you should ask if he has a nike elite account lol.

The snug fit is going to be one of the main draw cards of the new Mercurial Vapor VIII. This is all designed to lock the wearer’s foot into the boot and create instant acceleration. A lightweight perforated sockliner with textile top clothe also mirrors the natural foot shape and creates low profile cushioning. This is also enhanced by an interior heel that has an abundance of cushioning, while a clear coating prevents the foot from slipping.

The Mercurial Vapor VIII is also the first Nike boot to feature a new SG stud configuration. While nearly every SG boot on the market is made purely of metal studs, the new Vapor VIII has a combination of FG and SG studs, which is something many professionals around the world have been doing to their SG boots for quite some time now. This will be known as the Pro range of boots and it will be rolled out onto Nike’s other silos (CTR, T90 and Tiempo) in time for EURO 2012.

Welp im back 

Was a Vapor wearer from the begining and made the jump to the adizero last year.  But i am jumping back.  185g (like 6.6 ounces) a touch coating and still using the teijin fabric which give a pretty decent touch (don't know how it will fare being so much thinner).  But decent price point $220 US.

I like the mango color but don't think i want it...will wait for a black base or i think there was a white and blue color too in leaked images a while back.

for my fellow CTR feens, here's this....

they had tweeted previously that the CTR3 won't be out until "the end of summer", but i'm pretty sure nike wouldn't wait to make a major release like that until after euro 2012. you know nike's gonna come out with a typical blockbuster ad campaign for a major tournament, and they'll want to showcase their newest boot (blndsoccerplyr's pic of nike's 2012 roadmap shows no new laser or tiempo, so the CTR is the only big thing left in 2012).

i'd say CTR preorders will begin in early june, and the boot will ship before the end of the month.... i could be wrong tho; if you have any insight please post it!

I feared that... it's even evident on this year's Arsenal home- the white sleeves are so thin that you can see straight through it to my undershirt.

Vapor 8s are on nike id with a safari pattern option just like CR superfly 2 version 1 lol.  
This makes it so much better.  Im gonna ID a black safari pair of vapor 8s i wasnt' feeling the release colorways although i was going to default to white/blue.  Thank you nike.  Want to see them in person before i do anything though.  Or wait for some reviews.  The "suede" like coating intrigues me.  And i play on a lot of hard surfaces and some artifical turf fields...so the 2 stud heal might actually be rough on my feet.

i'm in the same boat as you in that i just wanna see this thing in person.... i'm married to the CTR (and i just found one of my grails on ebay - the white/yellow elite), but i placed a preorder of the pro vapor's from soccer.com just so i could try them on.... and so that i qualified for free shipping on some other stuff i wanted lol

Now, I'm kind of upset.

I bought the new Holland away shirt on the 15th, and the store that I purchased it from had to order the Van Persie shirt number and letters.

Two weeks go by and I finally call to ask why my items haven't arrived. The guy lets me know that Nike has changed decal distributors and that the store would essentially have to create a new agreement with the new manufacturer to start receiving inventory.

Do you guys know of any spot that will take care of this? I thought OnionBag but they only have the 2011 lettering as well, so I'm stuck.

^soccer.com looks like they're offering it.... although the shirt itself is on backorder until early/mid-april depending upon what size you need.

laser CW is okay, the vapor colorway seems a little femme, the tiempo would be better if it was a darker blue, and the CTR reminds me of a pair of huaraches i had in like 3rd grade.... everyone called them "ninja turtle shoes" - i can't find a pic of them anywhere online. i feel like i'm being a hater, but come on nike! you can do better.
