Why is 700 mil barely profit? They didn't spend 700 mil to put the film together, that's like 3 times Titanic.

The budget for the movie was probably $300m+ with advertising and everything thrown in. The general rule of thumb is a movie needs to make double the budget worldwide to break even. They still made a profit of 100m, but it's definitely not the cash cow they wanted and we can only expect all the sequels to make less money than this did.
*edit* It actually looks like I overestimated ASM2's profits
Sony is said to have spent over $200 million on TASM2 (before marketing, and either way it's a lowball estimate) and some analysts project that it will have to earn $800 million worldwide just to start turning a profit ... and at this point it's not looking good for the film to even equal the $750 million final take of its (much less expensive) predecessor.
