They making fun of fans now?
Mans wanted cyborg Jedi. I won't knock it.“Many also took exception with the portrayal of Luke Skywalker, who was reintroduced for the first time since Return of the Jedi (save for the tease at the end of The Force Awakens) as a disillusioned hermit who'd cut himself off from the Force.”
blame that on JJ
Also, Alan Dean Fosters “treatment” for ep 9:
What?Fans shouldn't blame anyone but themselves for Luke. They wanted 65-70 year old actors to return, they got those and the limitations they create.
If you wanted Elite Luke, you should have demanded recasting and not 30 year jumps.
What?
Don't matter how old Hamil is. Luke could've been portrayed as an old badass.
He was not.
Also would've made no sense to recast Luke for the sequels.
Luke had the greatest showing of force powers ever committed to filmI was 100% fine with the way Luke was handled. It didn't bother me because I don't care what anyone says, he's a 65-70 year old guy, he wasn't gonna be doin backflips & **** out there.
He became Obi Wan. An old Jedi hermit. And he was still more powerful than any of the other Jedi we'd ever seen. And people were pissed anyways. They just wanted fanservice and to see an old man be some sort of bad *** without realizing the logistics of that are impossible. Early 50's Tom Cruise/Keanu Reeves level, sure, but not 65+ age Mark Hamill. (Or Harrison Ford really)
Vader force pushing an actual person to the ceiling then slicing them is as bad *** as force power gets.Luke had the greatest showing of force powers ever committed to film

B SoxGOAT Jedi of all-time dies alone on a rock at age 52 doing a hologram trick is just lame to me. I respect it's canon though, so I've never complained. But I'm just expressing my opinion it was trash.
This is the clear division between you and Luke fans.I was 100% fine with the way Luke was handled.
Nobody wanted a backflipping Luke. Ain't like he did it in the OG.It didn't bother me because I don't care what anyone says, he's a 65-70 year old guy, he wasn't gonna be doin backflips & **** out there.

From actions, motivations, attitude, etc. there was a lot for them not to be fine with.

Don't need to be doing backflips to be a badass.
Plus it's not like ppl were expecting a Luke that wasn't going to be old.
You're excuses for the portrayal of Luke remain weird.
But Luke wasn't old. If he was early 20's in ROTJ +30 until TFA = early 50's. Qui Gon was 60 in TPM and Dooku was getting the better of Yoda and washing Clones at like 87 years old. Mace is up there too, so what's age got to do with it?

And R2Which original character(s) were not botched in the sequels?
Lando?
Chewy?
Again you talking like Luke Skywalker is suppose to be some parkour master 10× ninja warrior champion. He's not Spider-Man.Mark Hamill is a 65+ year old man, bro. I don't care what Luke's imaginary age is.
The PRACTICAL issue of the actor is the point. Not the character.
The fight where They photoshopped his head over a stuntman’s bodyChristopher Lee did more in attack of the clones and he was older then Mark was when The last jedi came out
Was a damn shame they didn’t let Mark do anything in 7 but stand on a rock while all his peoples died over a decade long period. And R2
That's it.

Mark Hamill is an ACTOR. They didn't even give him any material to work with.
