Yea. I do cardio a few times a week. I've been here before and I know that I'll have to restrict my caloric intake a bit further. But as I've gotten older I'm just unwilling to do it....for now.do you do cardio?

it's a bragging right. unless I'm involved into their kind of discipline, I would just say, OK ! but if I have the same interest as the person, I would be impressed. some wimmin for example liked my hulking size coupled with my facial appearance. sports achievements though is not much unless your crowd is part of the college groupie generation. my generation though composed of early middle age group which are more concerned about your economic status, personality and hobbies that can be of their interest. some of the younger group prefer what you can still do at your current age as was when you were in your 20s.quick question for yall:
if someone was a state champ in their sport, are you impressed with that? i’m not talking high school or anything like that. i’m mean in the open division.

it's quite challenging I agree. my body is not the same as well. I know my built is different now than 10 years ago. I accept that. I wasn't particularly huge to begin with but once I increased my workload, that's how my appearance really dramatically changed. as far as being older is concerned, slower metabolism, genetics and lifestyle could impact all of these things. I was at my slimmest when I was only doing mostly cardio which where basically jogging and lap swimming (timed and endurance). just so you know I'm at 203 lbs. as of the moment and was at a high of 220 lbs, last September.it's quite challenging I agree. my body is not the same as well. caloric intake alone won't do it for me, so I have to mix it up with cardio again. no jogging since my knee is messed up so it's basically swimming but with certain limitations.
I appreciate your insight. It's always cool hearing other people's experiences getting fit. Right now I'm at 220lb with high protein diet because I weight train 4 days a week, and run 2 times a week. To help with my caloric deficit I've started walking 2 miles at work, so I'll see how much dividends that pays in the next few weeks. I think that I'm "fit" for being in my 40's but it could really just be that I'm trying to do too much...LOLit's quite challenging I agree. my body is not the same as well. just to let you know that during my workdays, I register 13,000 steps on average with a calorie burn of 2,200-2,300 calories per shift. work shifts are from 4-5 evenings a week for an 8 hour shift. if I work in another hospital, I would include 3km of walking to work. diet is high protein and portioned. eating twice a day. if I'm lucky, I'll spend 30 mins to 1 hour of light workout. while I'm still heavy due to muscle gain, my excess fats are quite challenging to lose. water therapy/fasting is quite tricky due to some existing medical conditions but will give it a try once I'm cleared by my doctor to do it.I appreciate your insight. How helpful has that been? I tore my Achilles a few years ago and still struggle with some soreness after long runs or playing ball so looking for any extra recovery aids I can find.
Can't say much about Achilles injury but I knew when my gastroc muscle snapped, it was the beginning of the end. I feel extreme pain and soreness whenever I push my legs as I did before. My sports doctor advised me that it is risky to push my body given the trauma it suffered. What he's saying actually that I could do 70% at best just to be on the safe side. Have to change my whole mindset.How helpful has that been?
