STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Can't say much about Achilles injury but I knew when my gastroc muscle snapped, it was the beginning of the end. I feel extreme pain and soreness whenever I push my legs as I did before. My sports doctor advised me that it is risky to push my body given the trauma it suffered. What he's saying actually that I could do 70% at best just to be on the safe side. Have to change my whole mindset.
No kidding, my body is giving up on me. Too bad my mindset hasn’t adjusted yet, that’s the harder part.

well it is. it took awhile for me to even adjust. I have always been competitive. the realization sets in when I felt that I couldn't keep up with the younger dudes when athleticism and endurance is considered. I have to resort to experience, fundamental skills and pacing. as an older dude, it helps to slow the game down to your advantage. you might start to appreciate that seeing you able to beat the younger guys is not all about being flashy and athletic.

I always appreciate a park with proper height pull up bars. There's this one spot near me that has pull up bars, a couple 10' tall fireman polls, dip bars and monkey bars. Will be going there more this spring / summer as it starts warming up.

After not having a gym membership for a while… I decided to sign up at a Planet Fitness here in San Antonio. I am going to walk a mile to the bus stop… ride the bus to the gym… exercise… shoot around at the outside court at the playground near the gym… eat… and ride the bus home. I might walk home some days… depending on how I feel. I am looking forward to getting back into a gym, using the amenities, and benefiting from the work.

just scooped some dill pickle lemonade flavored pre workout lol. ]

damn this pisses me off

Yo wtf 😡

I read this article for some more jnfo

Idk why the tik tok video and the article keep calling the guy the father/dad. The MFer met the kid when he was 5 years old, killed him when he was 6.

The mom had been trying to get help from CPS to get the man away from her kid but theY didn’t do anything

Reading more about it online, although that NY Post story says Gregor met Corey when he was 5 yrs old, other articles said they did a paternity test which showed he was the father.
The mom was 17 when Corey was born. Gregor is 31 now so he must’ve been 22 or so and mom was likely 16. Since it happened in 2021.

damn this pisses me off

as a father who trains and keeps his son in real good health, I'm sick to my stomach. friggin jerk looks fat compared to his son. I push my son to get better and improve but this jerk is just pure evil. that jerk definitely something wrong with him. can't wait for him to get abused in the showers.

Aside from the injuries I'm in the best shape of my life. Did two classes a day last week, been biking 2 hours a day to keep my cardio up, they put weight in the gym so I've been getting a quick 30 min lift after. I just need nothing to break between now and competition...and not exceed the 208 to 225lbs super heavy weight class.

Anyone else here go to LA Fitness? A few locations around me have started putting in this new PRT gym where the basketball courts were. The one I frequent has had it for a few months and they probably never have more than a handful of people getting trained in there. They probably have room for 25-30 people at a time and did offer free training sessions in the beginning and of course it really tapered off after that. So frustrating not to have an indoor court available at the gym to run pickup or get some shots in during less busy times.
