STREET FIGHTER

Street Fighter V PS4 Beta Details Revealed
The first beta kicks off on July 23rd at 6:00 PM Pacific for 5 days and is exclusive to PS4 users. The primary purpose of this beta is to test the online net code, as this is something that Capcom is taking very seriously with Street Fighter V. The data that we receive from this beta will help us to improve the net code in the final product, so we thank you in advance for participating in the beta.

Here are some other details about the beta:
Characters

Throughout the course of the beta, all 6 characters will be available. This means that players will be able try out all the characters that were present on the E3 build. To set expectations clearly, the beta will roll out with four characters playable immediately, with Birdie and Cammy becoming playable on Saturday, July 25th. The reason for their delayed release is that in addition to testing out the net code, we’re also testing out our new content delivery system
Gameplay Flow

When players boot the game up and go past the start screen, they’ll be taken to the character select screen. Players should choose the character they would like to fight others with, as they will not be able to select a different character before heading into battle. Once they select their character, players will be placed into training mode while an opponent is found. Upon finding an opponent, players will be transported back to the versus screen and begin their match shortly thereafter. After the match is complete, players will then be brought back to the Grid where they will go back into queue for the next match.

Unfortunately there will be no local versus mode during this beta. Once again, the primary purpose of this beta is to test the online functionality.

Stages

While players are awaiting their match, they’ll be training in the Grid. Versus matches will take place in either the Bustling Side Street (China), Terminal Station (London), or in the brand new stage the Forgotten Waterfall.

Each of the stages has been inspired by various locales throughout the world with the Forgotten Waterfall’s inspiration being directly pulled from New Zealand.

Training room looks straight from SFIV. You can tell it's no where near done as the lighting is all off.
Hopefully it's something better like the one in SFxT

Earlier today, Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono hinted that a Brazilian character would be revealed soon for Street Fighter V. This could be Blanka, Sean, or a new character entirely, but we’ve got a different piece of news to share.

Sources have confirmed to Siliconera that Alex and Urien from Street Fighter III will be playable characters in Street Fighter V as well. Look out for the two to be announced at some point in the future.

Looking like the rumours from Ken Bogard are true then, so it will most likely be a new character and not Sean or Blanka.
Sean would have been interesting but I'm not losing any sleep over Blanka at all

Siliconera is a gaming site.

All 6 will be playable, but Birdie and Cammy on July 25th.

Welcome BLASTER, we'd welcome you to our PSN circle jerk, but PSN is down.

Ken officially joins the Street Fighter 5 roster

At Capcom's Street Fighter 5 San Diego Comic-Con panel, the game's next playable fighter was revealed. Ken, the fiery, blonde shoto, officially joins the roster.

Ken is the fifth character to return from the last installment in the series, Street Fighter 4.

Polygon reports that Ken will be very different from Ryu this time around. He will no longer sport his trademark red gi, and will come equipped with a more "in-your-face" playstyle.

His V-Trigger is called Heat Rush and enhances all of his special moves, while his V-Skill, Quick Step, allows him to run towards the opponent, closing the gap quickly.

Sounds and looks completely different to Ryu which is what I wanted to see. Vary the shoto's as much as possible.

Also I wonder who the ending is teasing.

Ok, it's now a battle between Nash and Ken. He looks really good and glad to see Shoryu Reppa is back.

No Shinryu Ken though :smh:

Maybe Blanka decided to stop painting his body green and his hair orange.
That's the only person that comes t mind right now.

Looks like a new character, which they're due to announce. Omg a SF character that actually doesn't look like they did for 25 years? Good job

Honda was my guess as well.

Also, I'm lowkey tired of them making Ken so exciting and Ryu so boring. They do this every damn time smh.

What if they totally flip everything on it's head and make Honda skinny with a whole new story line of how he left that Sumo **** behind? That would be crazy wouldn't it?

That would be trash. I hope they leave him out of the game
