STREET FIGHTER

Finally played SF5.. Karin is my new favorite character..she is a beast

It's arcade culture. Anyone growing up I'm the arcades knows anything else seems super foreign. I remember soldering my MAS stick for marvel 2 in 07. Te stick changed the game for sure with the quality buttons. I still have 3 of em laying around. Shoutout to Markman.

Much love. I love the fighting game scene and arcade sticks :D

Man FGC come up a long way. Catching up with E league and the production values are :eek

While that's true, the identity of the FGC will be lost over time to conform to the rules and regulations of the bigger sponsors.

I know the reason Street Fighter wasn't on MLG was for something like this.

All I've seen recently though is all going in the right direction.

Loads of tournaments which are all part of the overarching Capcom Pro Tour with the finals at the end.
And these big money invitationals on the side like E League, Red Bull Kumite and SXSW which focus on the best of the best.

More sponsors means more players traveling and practicing to the point it becomes their jobs so we can see the highest level of the game.

This would attract more people which will mean games like these can survive.

I can't wait for MvC:I with this kind of structure in place

I just don't want hype, grudge matches and overall rowdiness to be phased out.

:lol I get you.

They pundits and interviewers trying to instigate but the players are too nice.

Once Marvel is out though, i expect the salt to rise.

That's another thing I worry about, MVC:I itself will be an easy game to play or some SF x Tekken tag team type of game a lot of us will have a hard time accepting. But I'm trying to be optimistic.

I'm optimistic with the gem/stone system.

Still wish it was 3v3 but I'm just happy we get a new game when it looked like all hope was lost.

Back to E League and my goodness Group C is stacked. :eek
Just finished watching group B and it's been great so far.

Minus X-Men characters, though. It's basically Marvel Cinematic Universe Vs. Capcom. I don't know, I don't trust the stone gimmicks because, gimmicks can make or break a game.

The whole tourney has been crazy. I really like this event. Can't wait for the Excellent Adventures when Gootecks gets home. Hopefully he plays in the same outfit and glasses and doesn't say anything. :lol

I see the gems like X-factor in MvC3 but less OP and more strategic at this early stage but we really need more info on the game.
It's been a while since we heard any news but I'm still optimistic.

These are the stream archives on YouTube.
They also have it in parts on the channel with timestamps if you want to skip all the talking.

If it turns out to be some SFxT, I'm holding you fully responsible lol.

You know what I realized I havent fought a single Ryu player online since Season 2 started smh.

Use to be over half of the people i ran into used Ryu.

Strangler ryus that I ran into are still pretty decent. What I don't understand is how they hyped this big e league tournament as being a game changing event to a regular memeber of the fgc. I see it as a regular tournament streamed event by different sponsors that are invested in so called sponsored players.

I think the people who are really immersed into the dichotomous FGC vs Esports debate see this as a big deal. But I agree with you. This actually reminds me of that Invitational Street Fighter tournament that was in Germany a...few years ago?

Production values are definitely the highest I've seen for a FGC event.

I also like the structure of it and is my favorite invitational.

The Prize money is also only rivaled by Capcom Cup. I don't know if the 250K is for first place or the total prize pool.

That being said I don't know about game changing but I hope for more like it.

IT’S REAL! Check out Arika’s new Street Fighter EX/Fighting Layer-based fighter

If there’s one sub series of the Street Fighter franchise that doesn’t see much representation these days, it’s Street Fighter EX. It was somewhat of an experiment on bringing the series to 3D, with the help of Arika–a company co-founded by Street Fighter II co-creator Akira Ni****ani. Sadly, the complicated issues with the rights to the characters means we won’t be seeing any EX alums in main-line Street Fighter any time soon.

That said: Arika certainly hasn’t forgotten about these characters, and the company has released the following video showcasing a “what if” hypothetical look (at least as far as we know!) at what a new EX-style game with these characters would look like, just in time for April Fool’s Day in Japan.
The game itself seems to be cross between Street Fighter EX and Arika’s other fighting game, Fighting Layer, bringing in the walled stages and sidestep mechanic from the latter. Only three characters are selectable so far, Kairi, Hokuro, and Garuda.

:eek :eek :eek
Early build but man this looks so good.

Never played the EX series so don't really care for the cast but I'm interested now.
