i think you need to be a guest or know a guest of the freehand hotel to use it...i stayed there last year, pool is great and all europeans women staying thereI checked out that Broken Shaker spot and I noticed it's in the beach and not the mainland. Can anybody who is buying drinks there just go in the pool?
no idea... but there's so many people hanging out, I honestly don't think they'd even care or know who was a guest or notI checked out that Broken Shaker spot and I noticed it's in the beach and not the mainland. Can anybody who is buying drinks there just go in the pool?

esp if you're drinking/eating and spending money
after all, it's a hostel... not some overly-expensive south beach hotel
have you been? or did you just see the photos on Yelp or something?
it's hard to get a feel for what Broken Shaker is through photos online....I've never been, I just Google searched and looked at images there.
I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and do something different than what I do with the mandem. We usually hit up Wynwood but that can get old real quick.
Plus I need some spots to take girls out on dates. I haven't done that in a minute

Broken Shaker is actually a very small bar located in the back of a hostel.... the bar itself is like the size of a basic hotel room.
the name of the hostel is called Freehand.... you walk in the hostel lobby and head out back.... that's where the pool and courtyard area is..... there are chairs and benches all over to sit... it's covered with trees so it's a cool looking place.... the pool is behind the courtyard and has chairs and stuff around it as well.....
past the pool is a house looking building that's called 27.... its a restaurant downstairs and a bar upstairs ... it also has outside seating
so... it's like 3 places that all share a space and gets confusing if you're not familiar with it .... people think the bars are the same place
I wouldn't recommend taking dates there because that **** is EXPENSIVE ..... drinks are $12 and they add tip on top automatically.... so 2 drinks each for you and a date is $60... they have a special punch drink for $7, which I would recommend .. the menu switches up every 3 weeks or so but there's always two $7 drinks... after tip it's $18 for 2
the atmosphere is great, but it's a south beach kind of crowd most weekends --- def not a Wynwood crowd .... the more laid back shorts and tee people come on Sunday .. but again, it's at the hostel so a lot of the guests are there in beach clothes... there's no dress code but it's not like Wood or any of the Wynwood spots .... the music is good, but it's not loud... this isn't a place for people to dance... it's more of a social spot with music in the background
thing about Broken Shaker and 27 tho.... they automatically add tips to your tabThanks for the post, that was very informative.
Aren't $12 drinks the norm? I don't drink, but I'll have henny and cola once in a while. I believe that price is what most bars charge no?
I hate when people say that
Sounds like someone's outside looking in

I don't go and party out there either, but you already know this weekend is going down. Most of the time my boys just buy a bottle and pre-game outside the spot. There's a small lounge we go to out there called Purrdy(sp?). There's a lot of out of towners that go there, no cover charge either. Thanks for the post, that was very informative.

so a $12 drink turns into a $15 drink
most bars OFF the beach charge about $10 or less for liquor ... that beach upcharge is annoying, which is one of the reasons I don't party out there
I want no parts of South Beach on Memorial Day weekend...
the level of foolery is too much for me ....
Purdy is cool but one night they didn't let me in with board shorts on and ever since then that place can kiss my ***...
NT denim, cool.... bacon neck tee, cool.... board shorts, woahhhh.....
as if that place is classy or something

Chill man I'm already happy and living in prosperity. All I'm saying is that right now is one of the best times of the year to be single. I may be nearing the end of my journey as a bachelor but I still hope everyone flourishes so I can hear some good stories
This makes me miss working in a big corporate building kindaIntern/new grad season is upon us Used to be my favorite time of the year besides cuffing season. If you live in a major city and are single you should be flourishing relatively soon. Hope to hear some good stories this summer so I can live vicariously through y'all now that I'm locked down
