Never been my style. I don't even look a chicks direction if one of my homies smashed unless she's a set out for the team and even then no type of relationship could ever be formed. I wouldn't even want to know her real name. Too close with my homeboys and too many woman out here.

My boy and me have been tight for years. I'm his newborn sons godfather .
Fast forward to two weeks ago he calls me at 3am saying that while he was sleeping his girl went through his phone and caught him talking about some dirt he did .
She went through his snapchat which apperently leaves the convos you have ppl saved something he was talking to some chick he smashed while his girl was 5 months pregnant . The convo was circumstantial at best no solid evidence so I told him to deny deny deny till further Notice .
His dumbass admits it from the jump ( strike number 1
) his baby moms seeks out the girl he had smashed and spoke to her.
He had me reach out to her before and told her to play her role and play along ( strike number two ) which backfired. Ol girl sang like a bird.
When we first found out she was Preggo I told dude put yourself on child support now to avoid any complications down the road (they work together at the same place and make good $) she already got a kid from her previous dude and screwing dude over with child support / visitation rights so I know she's grimey.
Dude hits me up everyday saying he wants to leave that he's miserable and she's mentally unstable now . Checking dudes tolls , dude has to have his location turned on in his iPhone he stopped to feed his son the other day and she was blowing up his phone asking why he wasn't moving . Dude can't go out to hang out with us anymore (mind it's usually a group of 4 of us that go grab a bite to eat. No alcohol / women are involved ) once a week. Son can't even play Xbox in his own house.
This ***** has me to sick to my stomach.
Idk how should I approach this situation ?
I keep telling ol dude . ***** not getting any better it's gonna get worse so ride out, but he ain't listening. He's my boy but I'm tired of sounding like a broken record and him not listening.
Would it be scumbagish if I cut this ***** off ?
I know I'm in the outside looking and don't have a kid so I can't relate. Maybe niketalkers who do can chime in .

You gotta be there for him through every step fam, real talk. That's a situation I wouldn't wish on anyone but I'm all too familiar with seeing it happen with some of my boys first hand. What you need to tell him advise wise is to man up, real ****. A woman doesn't own you because she has your child. If child support is the only thing he has to fear than welcome to the real world. Fam is making good money and shorty knows this and wants to mess with him psychologically but it's not healthy for him at all to submit to this broad. If she wants to play the "let's get the courts involved" game then he has to play it right back and be ready for whatever because at the end of the day it's for the benefit of his child. The thing is though, is that her having a mental leash on homie combined with him getting caught cheating is gonna allow her to step out and inevitably do her thing somewhere else. Him trying to prevent the split is only leading to it. He needs to sit down and lay down the law with her and what's their status going forward and take the reigns back in the relationship. There isn't a woman on this planet who doesn't want to be a whole unit with the child of their father, especially a new born. She'll come around, if she doesn't at least he can say he tried.
But be there for him bruh, he'll need your support now more than ever.

Yikes. If he was "happy" before everything came to light and he wants to resurrect that relationship he needs to sac up and talk to ol girl and make amends. Ol girl is pissed about the lying and she will need to retrust him and that may not be simple and may not be a quick fix. And you help by reminding him of what he truly wants. I wouldn't say cut him off but you can't try to pull him out of her current comfort zone. If she put him on a set schedule or routine, y'all bein his homeboys gotta keep the raggin' down to a minimum and help him see how important it is for him to take this seriously.
