Awesome photos WatH. I take it that's like 3 peoples collections combined, right? Does anyone only buy and wear the older stuff? Like myself. I see a lot of recent retros in the mix (most on the right side).. Is that just how you split it up for the photo or are those diff. collections? DO you have any upclose photos of the shoes? I see some gems mixed in there. I'd love a better look.
That 4th photo of what I believe to be the AIR TRAINER TW LITE I has some amazing detail. I know it's also on the orange SC II LOW below it. That horizontal line detail is just astonishing. Retros would overlook that with the quickness.
ekhunter1, The price does seem a bit high but what can you do? I have seen others go for $60-$120. Many can be even had for way less in a lightly used state. But just as some sellers will say, ebay is not a great gauge for some of these older rarer shoes. People essentially don't know what they are selling. So you can definitely build a mindset that the ebay prices should be where it should be all the time. But in reality, you have sellers who know how rare an item is and doesnt necessarily need it sold, so you pay that price. I could see a no reserve $49.99 start price on these end anywhere from $80 to $140.. So $160 is not too bad. Awhile back there was a big wave of OG auburns. Some sold below $50. Some upwards of $200. Take your $160 as being fortunate it wasn't higher.
None of my late 90 sc trainers were picked up at that price. Then again, none of them were brand new and sparkling.. I took chances on used pairs, and essentially fixed them up and keep them extremely clean after wears. You have the unique chance to wear a new pair 13 years later. It would be hard pressed to say no to that. An extremely soft and mushy foam should be a giveaway if its not wearable. You could sorta tell that with my raider pair. But my others seem well enough for wear, at least for another year or two.
As far as defogging. Doesn't that require a blow dryer and HEAT? I would keep all chemicals and heat away from the air bubble seal... that's just me though.
All this talk today. I'm busting out my pair this weekend for wear.
In other news, I spotted these while searching the web

Now that's what I call a true BLACKOUT shoe done right.
