nah jvg is good but not great he has his "would you please shut the **** up moments" A LOT ... same category as hubie sometimes moderation is a good thing
HAHA.  Nah, I like it.  Commentating on a game requires A LOT.  It happens, and provides comic relief.

But if you wanted to get 'serious' about commentating, I enjoy Chris Collinsworth.  Now, an example of a 'dull' commentator would be 'Troy Aikman'.

NBA wise, there's plenty I like. hahah

as a hooper nah... as a commentator hell yeah cuz he can get annoying as hell at times..especially when hes driding somebody or doing a GS game

Nah, the HOF Commentators are

BILL WALTON
JEFF VANGUNDY

These 2 are HOF hands down. LOL

Reggie tries to create a personality, but it ALWAYS comes out silly.

lawd if we could get bill walton back on the big networks calling games. i miss hearing him say random funny stuff in that green giant voice

word. ESPN got him doing college ball and he's doing local sac kings broadcasts. Truly wasting his talents. :{

LOL YUPS.

Funniest crap he said was the PHYTHOGREAN THEORM when commentating on the TRIANGLE OFFENSE for LA.  Dude's the coolest commentator ever.

Woulda been the best center if not for injuries.

Most if not all of my top 10 have rings, but I wouldn't put them in the top 10 because of their rings. That's just me though. If Duncan, Kobe, Jordan, Shaq, all had 0 rings they still would be there
thats what ive been trying to say this whole time though. they have rings because they are all top 10 talents

if yuo really are a top 10 talent then you will eventually win a ring because you're a top 2-3 player in the league for 10+ years

i know this sounds weird, but has anyone tried commentating a game? or calling a radio play by play? next time you're watching a game just mute it and be the color analyst at home. it's hard as hell to fill time :lol

That is why they bring in 'coaches' that are used to yelling and watching the games, because they run their mouths.  Yes, it's not easy, which is why sometimes they go on funny tangents.

Not going to dispute that all-time argument. If you really are a legitimate top 10-15 player ever, you'll probably be able to get a ring.

But for the sake of argument...

Tony Parker has four rings. I get that he played in possibly the best environment possible, but to me he's still not a better individual player than someone like Iverson or Chris Paul. If by some crazy chance the Spurs were able to trade TP for the pick that became CP3, are you really saying that what your eyes have shown you from watching him all these years the Spurs wouldn't have been just as, if not more, successful? Just saying.

thing is no one is comparing him to the jeremy lins and jrues of the world, we are talking about chris paul vs other pgs that can be considered top 5 all time and when talking about these kinds of players everyone's teams are constatently winning. but none of these guys play for 50 win seasons, they all play for a championship. which is why only the best players tend to end up winning championships.

it is impossible to break how someone effects the outcome of a basketball game down into a single number. when comparing all these pgs who have careers full of winning im not going to look at a single number and say "oh chris paul accounted for more of his teams wins than nash did"

How many elite PGs have championship? Especially in the modern NBA? While you're thinking of the 2 person list, how many HOFers were on each of those teams??

i dont think tp is a better overall player that chris paul, tp has never been the clear cut best player on his team

some players are luckier than others but all players that are all time greats and didnt have their careers cut short have been on a team that is good enough to win a championship if the individual player plays better than any other player in the league (see dirk, hakeem, dr j).
