Happy Birthday to Unappreciated Lebron James. Most disrespected great player of this generation.
championships are not the only thing im looking at, and most people are not even asking that much of himHow many elite PGs have championship? Especially in the modern NBA? While you're thinking of the 2 person list, how many HOFers were on each of those teams??thing is no one is comparing him to the jeremy lins and jrues of the world, we are talking about chris paul vs other pgs that can be considered top 5 all time and when talking about these kinds of players everyone's teams are constatently winning. but none of these guys play for 50 win seasons, they all play for a championship. which is why only the best players tend to end up winning championships.
it is impossible to break how someone effects the outcome of a basketball game down into a single number. when comparing all these pgs who have careers full of winning im not going to look at a single number and say "oh chris paul accounted for more of his teams wins than nash did"
Nah man even with the rings he's still greatly disrespected.Title belongs to Chris Paul now
You right. To be quite honest, it's starting to look like Lebron messed up going to Miami.
Wade and Bosh right now, are still better than Love and Irving, both statistically and off the court as leaders. They just got burnt out a little bit in the Finals but that doesn't mean you jump ship and leave your boys hanging..
And it was all but confirmed by Lebatard that Pau Gasol was set to sign with Miami on a discount, had Lebron stayed. Gasol is an All-Star this year averaging 18/11, can you imagine Wade/Lebron/Bosh/Pau right now
championships are not the only thing im looking at, and most people are not even asking that much of him
chris paul hasnt gotten out of the SECOND ROUND. which is one of the reasons i have other no ring guys like nash and stockton ahead of him

I think Parker was a perfect fit for the Spurs. He became more agressive when we needed an scorer. He took over most of the offensive work load when Timmy and Manu got older.
Not going to dispute that all-time argument. If you really are a legitimate top 10-15 player ever, you'll probably be able to get a ring.
But for the sake of argument...
Tony Parker has four rings. I get that he played in possibly the best environment possible, but to me he's still not a better individual player than someone like Iverson or Chris Paul. If by some crazy chance the Spurs were able to trade TP for the pick that became CP3, are you really saying that what your eyes have shown you from watching him all these years the Spurs wouldn't have been just as, if not more, successful? Just saying.
its like the 4th, 5th and 12th place finishers in a race dont get medals, but that doesnt mean they are all on equal groundsThis is dumb. Nash, Stockton, Paul, all haven't won a ring.championships are not the only thing im looking at, and most people are not even asking that much of him

Making it past the 2nd round doesn't mean anything if we're talking about winning actual championships. You don't get anything for making the WCF
[thread="608612"] rings are not the only thign to look at, ok what does chris paul have? any sorta MVP? even all star MVP? or has taking over big games and crazy game winners? none, no thing. [/thread]

Messed up going to Miami? Or leaving Miami? To be quite honest, it's starting to look like Lebron messed up going to Miami.

OK? is that a big accomplishment? He was the 2013 NBA All-Star Game MVP.

here are some numbers for you to think about:
through their first 9 seasons in the league, (paul is in his 9th year, parker is in his 13th)
paul has played in 51 less games than tony parker.
in that same span, paul scored 383 more points, 511 more rebounds, 2340 more assists, and 850 more steals, granted while playing 51 less games, paul played 385 more minutes.
in that span, tony parker had a PER of 18.3. Chris Paul had a PER of 25.6.
in the playoffs it gets tricky because parker had played in 132 playoff games to chris paul's 50. if you take their per game averages:
parker : 18.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, .9 steals and 2.8 turnovers 48% on 2pta, 29% on 3pta and 70.4% FT PER 16.5.
paul: 20.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 9.6 assists, 2.3 steals, and 3.0 turnovers 50% on 2pta, 39% on 3pta and 81.6% FT PER 25.3.
with all that said, what exactly does tony parker do better than chris paul, other than have the luxury to play on a better team?
Anyways, in the playoffs:
Player A: 18.9 points, 5.3 assists, 3 rebounds, .9 steals 46% and 31% from 3
Player B: 20.6, 9.7, 4.8, 2.4 48% and 38% from 3
Who you taking?
You can't discredit Chris Paul by saying he hasn't had enough playoff success, then downplay the comparison of numbers against someone who does fulfill your criteria of playoff success. It's only a point to emphasize circumstance. Had Chris Paul been on the Spurs, he would likely have the same playoff success Tony Parker. But instead, he's a "perennial loser".
its like the 4th, 5th and 12th place finishers in a race dont get medals, but that doesnt mean they are all on equal grounds
i would love to talk about winning actual championships, but unfortunately very very few pgs have been able to be the best player on a championship team so we are left to talk about playoff rounds that dont result in a trophy and parade
By stats? You tell me how and I'll destroy as to him he isn't.
As much as I love Chris Paul buddy is regressing. Right now you can argue Conley is out playing him as well.
