I think after the ASG Melo's done. No way he misses that game in MSG.

Then the Tank goes into overdrive

He better not plany in the ASG

If he does the ASG but quits the season because of Knee issues, nah man.

No way he plays right?

all kobe cared about was scoring

kd goes out of his way to keep his fg% up, stat padding to look more efficient doesnt help the team
Going out of his way? ***** he ain't LeBron, KD actually tries to lead the league in scoring, rather than say "we all know I can it"
How do Thunder players feel about the halfcourt heave? Should it be counted as an attempt? And do they pull the just-after-the-buzzer move? I asked some of them:

Kevin Durant:  “It depends on what I’m shooting from the field. First quarter if I’m 4-for-4, I let it go. Third quarter if I’m like 10-for-16, or 10-for-17, I might let it go. But if I’m like 8-for-19, I’m going to go ahead and dribble one more second and let that buzzer go off and then throw it up there. So it depends on how the game’s going.”

Russell Westbrook: “No. Nope … If I was considering about [statistics] I’d do a lot of **** different.”

tough loss for Washington tonight. KD was just splashing contested jumper after contested jumper. Real tough loss.

Horrific pass by Wall to seal their fate though.

i still think melo is the best scorer. he has the range and can bully ball

nicks needs to shut melo down. no point in piling up mileage on his body this season
I can't call you the best scorer when you have zero 30 ppg seasons on your resume.

Wait wait wait. I must have heard it wrong. There's something KD has 30 of and Melo is 2nd with 18. Of course I know Kobe has more. My bad fellas, I'll find the proper stat.

Kevin Martin:  “Yes, I’ve noticed it a lot. For myself? I like to be considered an efficient scorer, so I think that’ll answer your question on how I approach that shot … [Brooks] said something about if no one wants to shoot it, go up and grab it. Don’t be the person to grab it and wait. And then I think Eric Maynor hit a shot or Russ hit a shot … If they changed that rule [to not count it], I’d probably shoot a lot more of them. Some people like to shoot the halfcourt shot, some people don’t.”

the reason some players are "efficient" is because they go out of their way to seem efficient, doesnt actually make them more effective than the guys who are labeled chuckers or inefficient

Gerald Green is going to be a hot name at the trade deadline.

Teams looking for instant offense will be lining up. PHX can't keep him this summer.

Wizards need another scorer off the bench in a major way.

Mamba blood vs beta blood

Do you want the 6'11 dude that handles like 2 or do you want the bully who triple threat is like no other.

It's amazing how people will reorient the entire history of basketball so Kobe is the best.

now shooting a high percent is bad?

Kobe fans man.

theres a difference between trying to make as many of your shots go in as possible and passing up low % shots to teammates when you're the better shooter

there's a reason why you always see westbrook putting up "bad" shots to beat the clock, kd passes it up and stands to watch because he doesnt want his fg% to go down

doesnt help his team win at all

Kobe is a better scorer because he shoots half court shots. #advancedstats

Pretty much. KD. does this all the time.

yeah when ibaka/westbrook/durant healthy, they have a either the 1st or second best offense in the league. What ever Kev Durant they somehow keep scoring like crazy.

but what everman

Kobe's the best, even when he misses. he secretly helping his team, Kobe's misses count for extra. :lol

KD averaging 23 shot attempts a game, and 30 points a game in the playoffs but some how he's not shooting enough.

cmon man.

Did I start this with my bogus stat? Lol

For those who care I think my stat was correct and has to do with shooting a certain percentage. That's the part I missed unfortunately.

i dont think you understand the concept of could be better, as in okc is great but if kd would take more of the difficult shots rather than passing it up the offence would be even better

and seeing that they have not won a championship yet, they need to be better

Shane Battier was recently asked about this by Sam Amick of USA Today  and had a typically thoughtful response:
“If you’re a true shooter, those shots add up,” [Battier] said, while making it clear that his view was also the opinion of most, if not all, NBA players. “It’s not worth it (to shoot them). Even though statistically speaking, it’s a positive – it’s a plus-play (in terms of probabilities of success). If you shot every buzzer beater, you’re going to make one out of – whatever the odds are.

“Even the heave is a plus-play. But unfortunately we’re not judged on the plus-plays. We’re judged on (shooting) percentages. I think they should take the heave out of the stat book. It’s common sense.”
taking these shots help the team, so using 3rd grade logic, not taking the shots hurt the team
