The heats problem was never defense though in the beginning. It was deciding whom was the alpha on the squad and who would and should take the last shot. The heat played solid defense from day one because bron and wade and bosh and pat and spo were all defensive minded and conveyed that thought to everybody on the team. guys that didnt play d sat on the bench. Bron wasnt the only vet. The team was full of them. And it was full of hungry guys that wanted to win. This cavs team has 1 guy. i'm pretty sure shawn marion is content with his one ring. bron has the play every role. but he's never really been a legit mental leader, besides leading with his play. He's never been the guy that gets to the heart of guys and motivates them with words and whatnot. This cavs team can score, sure, but hell, do they even run plays? It looks like nothing but iso. iso with hot sizzle, iso with love, iso with bron, iso with waiters. thompson is back to being mediocre like always. no more 10-12 offense rebound games like that one anomaly they had.

Knight missing the lay-up was bad, but I'm going to defend him a little bit. He clearly was focused on making sure he beat the clock and it took him out his normal rhythm. I've missed lay-ups before in similar situations. Not making excuses for him, but it happens.
