You really can't see how mainstream wouldn't eat the guy up?

Honestly, no. I can't comprehend how anyone, mainstream or otherwise, could enjoy listening to a guy who does a weird whining/rapping/singing hybrid. To each his/her own, however.

I guess I come from a perspective that sees all these other "artists" flourishing in the mainstream and view Drake as a way lesser evil 

Could completely understand how anyone wouldn't jive with dude's music in general though
 
drakes been trash ever since he put "started from the bottom now we here" on loop for 3 minutes straight and called it music
