Watched a bike race on TV this past weekend and had no idea that bike racing was a contact sport that last 250 yards is crazy. I saw elbows flying and think I saw someone get kicked.

Are you talking Tour De France? There’s multiple crashes a day.Watched a bike race on TV this past weekend and had no idea that bike racing was a contact sport that last 250 yards is crazy. I saw elbows flying and think I saw someone get kicked.
Yup. Always thought the crashes were just accidents and not from intentional contact. Are you talking Tour De France? There’s multiple crashes a day.

I can only imagine. On my bike I'm decently fast but have only raced 1 person at a time, with plenty of space betwixt us and wouldn't be comfortable going all out in a crowd like that. Somebody definitely deserved a relegation or sanction in that sprint finish I saw.
It mostly is - the sprinters will bump elbows and lean a little, but that's really hard to do at 70kph - and if you do too much you can get relegated or disqualified. In a sprint you are supposed to go in a straight line and any attempt to cut across someone can result in sanctions. It happens fairly often. At that speed it doesn't take much contact to go down - and then you can get a huge pileup easily.
I had a CAAD12. Excellent bike! Really loved that thing.I think it's time to upgrade my bike. I grown out my Ultegra Caad12. I think a Canyon is in my future.
It rides as if you’re on rails. I may give the caad13 a second look!I had a CAAD12. Excellent bike! Really loved that thing.
do you think is correlated with their move out of the USA in 2010? I'm pretty happy with my (pre-2010) Cannondale.I have a CAADX - it’s a fun bike but I’d never buy another Cannondale. It took me ages to stop it creaking and the tolerances are terrible. Last time I changed the bottom bracket (to a thread together one to stop it creaking) I pushed it in with my bare hands. Every time I do anything it’s like that which is really disappointing from a big brand.
You shouldnt have a problem from the newer cannadales. They have had to do away with their proprietary bottom brackets. Component manufactures have told them to either buy their full groupsets or kick rocks. I’m going to miss that spider ring with a BB infinitI have a CAADX - it’s a fun bike but I’d never buy another Cannondale. It took me ages to stop it creaking and the tolerances are terrible. I don’t have a canyon but am on a bunch of canyon owner Facebook groups and they are plagued with problems and QC issues.I think it's time to upgrade my bike. I grown out my Ultegra Caad12. I think a Canyon is in my future.
That’s what I’m afraid of. Did some research of my own and I think I’m back at cannondale. Super Six Evo Ultegra di2I don’t have a canyon but am on a bunch of canyon owner Facebook groups and they are plagued with problems and QC issues.

I have a Kask Mojito. Had some Dragon Ball Z vibes which I liked at first but now I wish I had a helmet with a little less flare out the back.
Who here wears jerseys when riding? So I got the Palace x Rapha training jersey cause you know.....it's NT and you have to be cool like that but the jersey fits extra snug which I assume is the point unless these things fit smaller than usual. Almost feels uncomfortable to ride in but I haven't even given it a shot yet.
