The College Basketball Post

Any KU fans have info on Joe Dooley? Heard pretty positive opinions on him for our school hiring him today.
Shocked that he took that job. Seemed like he'd be in line for something better, and he's turned down interest from other school for better.

Speaking of Dooley getting hired a FGCU, look at one of his friends posted on Twitter...good to see "old-timers" with the humor :rollin :rollin Proof that dudes never really mature, we just adjust to be more responsible.

Have you OD’d on Andrew Wiggins news yet? Good. This morning, Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford called in to Kentucky Sports Radio to give his take on what his star player will do. Here are the highlights:

– Throughout his recruitment, we have really only learned two things for certain about Andrew Wiggins: he is insanely talented on the court, but very private and laid back off of it. Fulford said that the latter trait has created a stall in Wiggins’ decision making process, with the young player hesitant to pull the trigger on a school because a) he doesn’t want to tell people no and hurt their feelings; and b) he still isn’t entirely sure what he wants to do. Fulford compared the current state of Andrew’s recruitment to when he was deciding whether or not to attend Huntington Prep. After two years of wooing Andrew, it was Andrew’s father who finally called Fulford to tell him that his son would be joining his program. Fulford recently said that it wouldn’t surprise him if Andrew had someone else announce the decision, maybe even via tweet.

– At this point, Fulford said you can’t write any of the remaining schools off. He went through each school left and shared his thoughts on why Andrew’s still keeping them on the list.

Florida State: Obviously, Andrew has a deep connection to this school because his parents attended it and he went to camps there throughout his childhood. He also has a good relationship with head coach Leonard Hamilton. Fulford said that Andrew would be “comfortable” there.

Kansas: Fulford mentioned that Andrew liked Bill Self.

Kentucky: Simply put: “Kentucky is Kentucky.” Fulford said Andrew knows he would be surrounded by great players there, and listed them all by name.

North Carolina: Andrew still has family there.

– Reading between the lines, I feel like Florida State is still in contention because Wiggins doesn’t want to offend them by saying no. He has longtime connections there, and Fulford said that Andrew may be hesitant to eliminate them because his teammate, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, is going there next season and he doesn’t want to hurt his feelings.

– Where does Fulford want Wiggins to go? Selfishly, he said Kentucky because of its proximity to Huntington, which would allow Fulford and the staff to see him play as often as possible. Fulford said he also has a great relationship with Orlando Antigua…which, come on, who wouldn’t? Coach O is awesome.

– Fulford shot down some rumors that have been circulating this week. 1) Contrary to UNC message board reports, Andrew will NOT announce his decision next Tuesday. 2) Also, Fulford has NOT been hired as an assistant coach at Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, or Florida State. Fulford pointed out that if he were hired to any of those staffs, Wiggins would then not be allowed to attend that certain school.

– However, Fulford said that Wiggins WILL decide by the spring signing deadline of May 15th. “I have letters of intent on the table waiting for him.”

GRIII and McGary are coming back. Not sure how close they were to leaving but that's great news for Michigan. It would have been hard to recover from losing 4 out of 5 starters.

You know what coaches may not really play that much of a role in developing players, but it's not dumb lock, places like Gerogetown and Gonzaga have consistently been able to identify undervalued recruits early in the recurting process.

Dante Exum apparently has interest only from Indiana, LSU, SMU and Boise State, THIS IS A JOKE. Kid might be the best point gaurd in the class :lol

his dad played for north carolina apparently, they have no excuse not to be on him.

You're right and should have worded better. I put much more value in staffs that evaluate talent well as opposed to perceived development, sometimes it is luck (Otto Porter) but certain places uncover guys better than others.

There also are schools that get talent and don't polish it (Baylor, Memphis?). So not to dismiss development entirely, but in case of most of the blue blood schools they miss on the trail by being lazy a lot of the time.

I don't know what's lamer someone pretending to be a throw away CBB player in an attempt to score points or the reality that he could've legit fallen this far from those coed dorms at chapel hill. Your antics are worst you big homie Vince at the line in the Playoffs during his Orlando tenure.

But never mind that... Live Homie :lol :{

Wiggins looked so good at the Hoop Summit can't wait to see what he does next year. 6'7 with that much bounce/speed. He's also very efficient and let's the game come to him. I look forward to seeing how he plays when he has to takeover a game.

Exum looks very interesting as well, shot is a little funny but he hits it. His explosiveness is real and he has great size as a guard. Also liked the point guard from Germany.

Randle and Andrew Harrison are going to be very potent together. Randle looks like a grown man out there

Per Jeff Goodman: @GoodmanCBS: Been told Andrew Wiggins has canceled his home visits with Kansas, UNC and Florida State early this week.

This dude Cal :{ :{
