I don't think it's all on Dame but most of it might be. Even Beans said Dame was doing too much. Dame is like Suge to me (w/o the beat downs). They did alot for people but it ends ugly.

Dame was doing too much and Hov wanted out anyways. Lyor was in the back scheming and pounced when he saw the opportunity. It was a combination of things.

The Roc could be as big as Def Jam right now if they stayed together and made some big signings like Wayne in 04-05, Drake in 07, Cole in 09, Nicki/Sean/Vic, etc. along with whoever else they would have picked up along the way.

Even without that fantasy lineup, Dame broke it down the best in some video, I think it was a Jim Jones documentary where that GIF of him putting his head on the table comes from

"I had the streets (Cam/Beans/Dipset), I had the mainstream (Hov), and I had the nerds (Kanye)"

I'd imagine that a lot of Dame doing too much also contributed to Rocafella carving their lane in the game the way they did. A lot of those dudes were EATING off of the work Dame did with garnering that respect in the industry. You got rumors of Jay getting hit in the head with bottles by Pun, and video of him mushing a female. But you've got Dame on camera yelling on male executives. Just something to think about.

It looks noble and dope for him to tell Lyor Cohen to shut the **** up and for him to tell some white nerd that he doesn't know **** about his culture...but you need the pencil pushers to get things done. It's not all champagne spitting and bars. A successful album takes way more than good music and it's no surprise that people aren't gonna wanna work with you if you continue to disrespect them or belittle them because of their upbringing or skin color.

Dame just didn't know how to maneuver people like Hov does and Hov spotted that. On top of dame doing little slick **** like making Cam president with the tension between him and Hov.

Of course those label execs won't want to do business with Dame. That's a given. My point is that the artists on the Roc weren't complaining about Dame being on that bs when he was carving out their lane in the industry, Jay included.

And in the interview, he clearly said that Cam was made a vp because he was the head of the dopest label, the same way Beans was a vp since he was the head of State Prop. Hov did things sorta grimey. People refuse to admit that.

You obviously miss remembered. Why exactly would they put out a documentary showing him assaulting a woman in front of a bunch of people? How was it out of place when she was joking Jay just prior to that?

The documentary was Backstage. It was about them joking around, arguing, having water guns, bonding, backstage.

It's not even logical unless you just want to reach for anything to hate on dude for.
