The Combat Jack Show Thread

Yeah honestly...the bulk of his fanbase don't really appear to be the ones that grew up on Polo and Jordan Kanye. They were literally small children during that era. From what I see...the majority of his fans seem to have grown up on Post-2010 Kanye. I work in Georgetown where he pulled the Apple Store stunt last year...and that **** sent a frenzy through the university. There were hoards of students who all ran to that store just to be able to stand outside. These are people that were like ******* 9 when MBDTF came out.

I never understood people expecting artist to recreate a sound they had a decade plus ago, those are classics for a reason... those can't be recreated.

Realistically, how long do we really expect these _’s to dominate?

Bruh been doing his thing like 15 years at this point

That's my thing, to say "He's not as popular" is not a big deal and expected. Time passes and those who were on the top often settle into the middle. It's what happens

Yeah, they're loyalist still hoping and longing for the old Kanye, because they grew up on him.

But polo and Jordan wearing Kanye was replaced by walking dead sweater wearing Kanye Kardsahian years ago.

Yea you wrong. Those hopin' for the old Ye gave up on him around Watch the Throne/Yeezus. His fame and popularity right now really sit behind his influence in fashion from years ago

No, I'm right.

Why do you still rock with Kanye?

Nobody expects him to recreate a sound, his sound isn't good.

Normally as a pre-teen and teen when you first start listening to music is when the stanning begins.

His sound isn't good to YOU, as someone who's rocked with him since the College Dropout days i've thoroughly enjoyed every project of his outside of the last one.

And yes plenty of people are constantly asking for the "Old Kanye" in terms of music, and that could be said for Any rapper who gave us classic material. there's always this thought of we want your old ****, it's literally impossible to do that unless you were making completely generic, souless music.

Jay-Z B Side Setlist

Setlist :pimp::pimp:
If Joe gets brought on stage for Pump It Up vocals :wow::wow::rofl::rofl::rofl:

this was the setlist to the first show, i would hope he isn't gonna do the same list again

And Joe and the phones. I understand what he's saying.

I wouldn't want a phone in my face when I'm out.

And a lot of people feel entitled with celebs. They'll interrupt them from eating or conversations.

And it's obvious that it came from someplace. He mentioned someone DM'ing Cyn, probably a clip or pic of him talking to a chick while on tour.

But not having kids at your wedding?

and no phones? So it can be recorded for VH-1 or you can release the pics/vids yourself

He's still popular as hell, not saying he's been cancelled or done but he's not what he was 6-8 years ago.

https://www.newyorker.com/culture/c...service-is-full-of-longing-and-self-promotion

And it eats at him that he's not the center of attention. He been quite lately, I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled another "stunt". His music been garbage for years, he ain't making no classics like he used to so he gotta find attention another way. I haven't really been paying attention to this sunday service thing but it seems like he reading from the politicians playbook. Act like you love the black church and the black community will love you again.

A lot of people have a no kids policy for their wedding, or their reception. I've been to quite few with that policy. Step outside of your bubble bro.

I honestly think the way people look at Ye fans has been overblown for years. I don't see how they are any different than any other major artist. The same way that it's "popular to hate J. Cole" it's "popular" to hate Ye, say he's washed, say he's trash, or call his fans brainwashed.

He's mos def on a run to gain some traction back but it's not much different than any other artist going back to the drawing board after the drop the ball. But what's funny is if the people who are "so tired" of hearing about Ye would stop declaring how tired they are of hearing about him they might see or hear less about him. The whole process of saying loudly how much you don't care about somebody is irritating.

Nah, Kanye stans are a different breed. :lol

I know y'all don't rock with the Grapevine podcast but their recent episode on Legalization of Marijuana was pretty good. Def worth a listen if you are intested in such a thing

I looked this up and the only thing that came up in apple podcaats is a show with only one episode in 2014. Can you link me to it pleas?

Mal doubling down on his dumb *** Westbrook argument. He is peak barbershop still arguing that triple doubles makes him the best player in the league.

Joe calling Kyler Murray, "Kyle" and then Parks correctly calls him Kyler. Joe asks who is Kyler and Parks switches to calling him "Kyle".
:rofl::rofl: Thy should leave Game of Thrones and Sports alone..

Act like you love the black church and the black community will love you again.

A part of what make the Sunday Service **** work in general as a performance is he already had these gospel and black church leaning/inspired/sampled records to mix in

You could def argue that timing of this was on some olive branch type ****

But it’s not like he just found the black church all of a sudden
