I just want to know when are we actually going to discuss the dems and black people.
It never seems time. Every four years that can is kicked down the street.
When Obama was in office and had both the house and senate for his first two years, it was he still doesn't have enough votes to push his agenda. He just got in office. Wait until his second term. Notice how Republicans don't have this problem. They don't give a damn about the other side and how popular it is and have no problem in having Pence vote to give them the numbers.
And every election it's not about what the democrats can do for us, it's because they aren't Republicans.
That's the discussion we need to have
We aren't getting it in 2020, so are we getting it in 2024, 2028......2040?
Instead we have discussions about Ice Cube and Kanye.
Well this is in the hip hop/podcast thread on a sneaker forum lol. So I can see why we’re talking about Ice Cube & Kanye in here. But the discussions have been had. And black people have rightful cynicism and distrust to any government institution in this country.
We gotta be real about the political framing in this country in 2009 (especially at that time). And how yes, the Democratic Party played it safe and broad, and got ho’d by republicans (who like you said...don’t give a damn about rules, regulations, popularity etc) to the country’s detriment. I think Obama’s biggest failing was how naive he was to the country’s true nature. Then came the tea party wave....and all the other **** that has led us to this point. But you are correct. What’s on the table for 2020, and where the parties have been pushed to are a lot farther on the spectrum than they were a decade ago. The Democratic Party has been pushed from moderate/centrist (as it was in Obama’s term) to more of a progressive side. While the GOP has fully embraced the other end as a white fascist party, with an apartheid state in mind. And the 2018 mid terms were indicative of that. Blacks people for sure have to continue to hold the Dems accountable and demand more. I never will disagree with that. There is a ton of work to be done.
