movie was fantastic.
no real spoilers in my post, just some observations.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Tommy from 3rd Rock seemed forced into the movie early on. his voice bothered me much more than Bane's. he had some type of 'deep for no reason' ... Suzy Kolber type swag. his 10 minute monologue at Wayne Manor was super unnecessary and didnt really provide any insight.
i thought this whole dialogue was supposed to explain how he found out about Bruce's identity. in the end, it was about his childhood and ended with "when i saw you, i knew it was you"
f outta here, Tommy. you're no master detective.... you hothead.
Catwoman
Anne Hathaway killed it. i didnt know what to expect, no strong feelings either way. after watching it, her acting chops were exactly what was needed for that character. straight up conniving and deceitful. the scene in the bar was amazing. the range and quick change of emotions was pretty impressive.
i felt she and Ms. Tate couldve been developed more. their relationships with Bruce seemed to come together rather quickly. i woulve preferred more time spent on them, and less time with Tommy and Commissioner Gordon.
speaking of Ms. Tate... i literally
when i put the pieces together. played Arkham City with my nephew... dope character. needed more.
Bane
voice threw me off at first. as some have stated, it almost seemed as if the voice was coming from off-camera. throughout the rest of the movie, it kind of settled in. that mask generates and pumps gas into him to breathe, right? so the slight variance of tone and pitch seemed kind of on point.
other than that opening scene, i have no complaints. Hardy killed it. it's hard to exude such swag and confidence when half of your face and body is covered in machinery. he did it with ease.
saw it on a giant DLP screen with DMAX seats, or some nonsense. it was cool. but going to see IMAX version with the homies this weekend. seems necessary.
