However, the woman-in-question has been dragged into the spotlight against her wishes. In fact, according to her, she has no idea how the letter ever went to auction. From Alina Machado of WTVD in North Carolina(via Deadspin):
It seems that a letter we all took to be a goofy and random tidbit has caused some real harm. While the letter is fairly innocuous on the whole and says more about Jordan than Robinson, it does make sense that she would feel a little awkward about having her past thrown into the public with no warning. Hopefully a resolution can be reached soon.

Yeah, some people are @@*++. The majority of people in the world will not be close friends with Michael Jordan, so I fail to see why this has any significance.

I definitely don't think that - in fact, I would love for Lebron to step up as a real leader. In fact, I commend that moment where Wade pressed Lebron to step it up.
Aside from that, I think the problem is people put these superstars on a pedestal, like they are not just people with exceptional gifts in one particular part of their lives. People expect these athletes to not want some privacy or to move about like they're just regular people. Sure, some are able to do it pretty well - Ocho. Keep in mind that these people have other people asking them stuff all the time... whether it's an autograph, a picture, wanting them to see a new move they made, an agent to contact, a charity to attend, etc.
I'm not excusing MJ, but I just don't care if he's a jerk or not. Basketball is all I care about from him - and he is the GOAT.

That's the "Downside" of having that Killer Instinct that everyone loves in his game. He cares about NO ONE'S feelings. The world already puts him on the highest pedistal, and on top of that, he has on a pair of stilts standing on his tippy toes looking down at the people that aren't michael jordan. He almost seems like a common day rick james. I wouldn't mind seeing that Chamillionaire vid in a "charlie murphy's true hollywood story, type segment".

He's arguably the most famous person in the world. For better or worse, I don't think theres many people who can relate to what everyday life must be like for him
