I saw this today and laughed.

Kevin McHale's Rockets have hoisted 1,634 threes this year. McHale's disciples Flip Saunders and Randy Wittman have two teams that combined have hoisted 1,540.

Yet Houston is hitting at .351 and Wolves and Wizards combine for .359



Gotta love that tag-team Saunders and Wittman basketball philosophy!

It was in one of my local papers :lol

It's hilarious to me how anti-3's Saunders is (despite his repeated denials) but this as we know is nothing new. Ya he's had some crappy teams, but If you run an offense that has enough confidence for your guys to spot up and take 18 footers then there is no reason why you shouldn't have faith in them to occasionally take two steps back and try to get 3 points instead of 2. Wittman is Saunders' lackey and it is no surprise he has the same offense.

I try to go see them whenever there at Philips
 
I went to the game against the Celtics just over a week ago. Idk what the announced attendance was, but Target center look like it was about 40% full. Lavine played well in that one.
 
Yeah I always wonder how relevant attendance stats even are. All teams do is fudge the numbers. And as a Wolves fan I can speak for everyone by saying I've been at live games where the arena isn't even HALF full and they are announcing they got like 12,000. :lol Season ticket holders play a part when they add it up but this team has always had pretty low season tickets.

Three game win streak! We rarely get to see that in these parts. Interested to see what this team does in the second half. I will worry about the lottery odds later but yes a top 3 pick is essential.

"The Hawks are on their way to winning their 43rd game of the season - Incidentally the Minnesota Timberwolves have gone 10 straight seasons without winning 43 games in one of them."

If Flip trades Bennett I'm going to be exteremely pissed!

He hasn't gotten the chance to play. Get Thad the @#$% out of here please! And let Bennett play some Flip for Christ sake!

The Minnesota Timberwolves have acquired rookie Adreian Payne from the Atlanta Hawks for a protected future first-round pick.

The Wolves announced the deal Tuesday, one day after the Hawks beat the Timberwolves in Minnesota. Payne was the 15th overall pick in the draft last summer.

But he has played in only three games this season because the veteran team has surged to the top of the standings and has not been able to offer him enough playing time.

Payne previously starred at Michigan State.

The Timberwolves have a trade exception from the Kevin Love deal, so they do not have to send a player back in return.

Wolves coach Flip Saunders says Payne fits the mold of a young, athletic player who will fit in on the rebuilding team.

Based on my fuzzy math here's now what the Wolves have given away:

Miami's 2015 first round pick (right now slotted at 18th pick)
Wolves own future first round pick to Atlanta (lottery protected 2017-20)
Wolves own future first round pick to Phoenix (protected top 13 in 2014, top 12 in 2015-16)

I thought this move was okay since the pick was protected no???

I like the move on Payne, it gives you depth and potential at our weakest position for a future 15-20 pick.

1st round picks are assets no doubt, but ya'll make it seem like they grails and ****.

Now the Neal move is pointless, I like that he can shoot the 3 ball but he is a pg and he'll be gone next year regardless.

Payne is 23 years old. 2 years older than AB. You make like him but I just think its a bad use of an asset. Andrien Payne's value can't be very high.

and THIS is why you don't give up a 1st rounder for 1 year of Thad young. :{

at least you wouldn't give up your own pick for a 23 year old rookie in the d league.

are the only 2014 23+ year old draft picks I can find performing worse than him in d league.

Khem Birch is a year younger and performing way better in the d-league. 24 PER vs 18.


Why not a flier on khem Birch who doesn't cost you a first round pick.

He can be a solid role player and a leader. Minnesota still has the lottery this year and the ability to sign free agents. I dont think this is a huge issue given that it's a protected pick.

And you couldn't have found that without giving up a protected 1st?

You keep saying that but giving up picks protected or not unnecessarily is just bad business
 
Doesn't seem that bad to me given that it's protected...but we will see

Hope he doesn't trade bennett I dnt know why but I still haven't gave up on him yet
