The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

You think so? I had the same thought this morning and wanted to say that the Fertitta brothers would probably sell to a group that more or less has the same values as themselves. The sport has come a looooong way since the beginning and it would really suck to see if become a circus show rather than the sport it is now. A lot of work needs to be done to really have MMA become mainstream..so hopefully the new owners can do it.

Thanks to the UFC's recent favoritism it's already becoming a bit of a freak show to be honest.

The sad thing is,

I don't think the owners really care about who they sell it to as much as how much it's sold for.

It's either going to be a great sale and it'll improve the organization, or it'll be a horrible sale and we'll see the end of the UFC. :{

They've been giving specific fighters big "pushes" to become UFC stars in order to generate more PPVs and more $$$. The owners of the UFC are business men. They care about the money. People like Dana White, Joe Rogan, etc. are the actual fight fans and the people who love the sport.

If the Fertitta brothers are offered enough money, I'm sure they'll sign it off to whoever. Dana has no say in it, he just has a say in if he stays.

I think that's also a reason Rogan has said he'd for sure leave, because he has a feeling (or maybe he knows the Fertitta brothers enough to know) that the decision will most likely be based off of the amount offered, rather than ensuring a good future for the org.

The UFC has made it very clear before, business is business.

As much as we criticize them, I can't imagine the UFC without Dana, Lorenzo, and Rogan.

But y'all talking about that stuff when we got a potential fight if the year this weekend.....

ufc is big business, but a lot of their fighters are getting screwed financially. maybe, some good will come out of new ownership?
but yeah, these guys need to unionize

Showtime is getting throw right into the Featherweight fire. Pettis vs. Charles Oliviera on Aug 27th.
