More info on the Diaz vs Guida thing

Justin Buchholz, coach of Team Alpha Male, said on the Stud Show Radio podcast that it all started after Guida's TKO loss to Brian Ortega. Guida was walking toward the locker rooms, Diaz popped out of a bathroom and the two crossed paths.

"Clay said something to him, but Clay was discombobulated at that time," Buchholz said. "He just said something to Nate. He was all like, 'Man, I'm gonna f*ck you up again' or something like that."

Guida defeated Diaz in 2009. But Diaz just smiled and laughed it up, mostly surprised, according to Buchholz. However, the coach said Jason Guida, Clay's brother, provoked the situation by grabbing Diaz and pushing him up against a wall. Buchholz said Jason Guida was already emotional and smashed a stool backstage after his brother's loss.

"Then f*cking Jason and Nate got into it," Buchholz said. "I don't know what happened, but Jason bull rushes Nate and tries to put him up against the wall. Nate has got him in a clinch. Like 50 people from the UFC come rushing into this thing. I'm standing in the middle like, 'No!'"

Buchholz apologized to Diaz after and handed him his shirt that he apparently lost in the scuffle. Diaz went back to his seat cageside at The Forum like nothing happened. Soon after, he was shown on the screen when news of his rematch with Conor McGregor atUFC 202 was announced.

Cody Garbrandt added on Stud Radio that he ran into Diaz after the fights were over and Diaz just said he was surprised by the whole situation. Buchholz said there is absolutely no beef between Team Alpha Male and Team Diaz.

"Team Alpha Male versus everybody, except the Diaz brothers," Garbrandt said.

Jason Guida is a joke and I used to be a Clay fan but he hasn't evolved with the sport he still fights like he did in 2006. Seems like Diaz has a target on his back for the big fights. Crazy how time has changed.

buccholz and garbrandt don't want beef with Nate even if Nate is solo. Was nice of buccholz to find Nate's shirt and hand it to him.

UFC hires lobbying firm to combat extension of Ali Act to MMA

The Ali Act, passed in boxing 16 years ago, is designed to protect fighters from unfair practices by promoters. Under the federal law, promoters can only bind a fighter to a contract for a year or less; no manager of fighters can act as a promoter; rankings and championship belts are determined by third-party sanctioning bodies; and promoters must divulge full revenues to fighters.

For as much as the UFC has done. They have a looong way to go in the world of professional sports.

They needed someone to keep them in check a long time ago. The ufc is an unfair organization. If the lower level fighters didn't struggle so much with money and need paychecks to survive then a fighters strike should be organized and the demand for a union like other sports. We saw what happened with the missouri football team when they stood up for something and refused to play.

Interesting.

If he wins (and the fight isn't terrible....), and Lawler wins, that's a strong position to be negotiating from if the potential for Lawler/Rory II is there.

My man is a straight killer b.

Who ya'll got this weekend? I got Rory. Wonderboy is an outstanding striker but Rory has the experience and size to help close the distance. I honestly don't even think it will be close. Rory is a far superior martial artist.
