It could be a good co main event for the NY card
I have very high interest in seeing Cowboy finally fight a legit top 5 WW. He says his extra weight makes him less susceptible to body shots, which were his downfall
Not to mention his work now with Gibson, his boxing has improved

Yeah, he's not won the "big" fight. But Robbie is on the decline if the accusations in this thread are true, so it's a great opportunity for both.

I too thought cowboy would become a gate keeper judging from his losses at lightweight
I completely wrote off his chances at 170 but I believe that was a mistake, I'm willing to give him the chance to prove himself against Robbie in a winnable fight
Thinking about matches with wonderboy, woodley and Maia, I really don't see how Cowboy can't compete with them

I think the current 155 champ and everyone else he has fought would agree.

I thought my eyes were deceiving me. That kid looked nothing like him. I hope he goes back and get a DNA test.
I wonder what his fighting style was like before the coaches told him to lay back and use his range. He seemed real tentative at the start trying to establish his jab and then he got caught.
Cejudo came across horribly this episode.

Cowboy is definitely elite. Since 2012 he's only lost to RDA and Pettis. And dude fights OFTEN.

So do all those champions on tuf relinquish their belts or do they just return to their organizations after? Kinda weird that 16 companies would let their champions go out and risk injury for another company's tournament.

I think it's a win win on both parts. These smaller promotions know they're never going to be bigger than the UFC. And the UFC is probably paying them to use their champs. And all the publicity on a weekly basis. Win win on both sides

It gets the name of the smaller orgs on tv but to be honest tuf is pretty dead ratings wise and I don't care enough to even check those other companies unless their ring girls look good.

It's tough to say, but all organizations are not equal by any means. An Alaskan event isn't on par with a SoCal event, Brazilian event, Japanese event, and so on.
His striking didn't look good to begin with in the clip from home or in training. His chin got touched and he lost all confidence before he got taken out.
When dude kissed his "son" on the mouth I cringed...
The smaller promotions also get more publicity via their champs showcasing their talent assuming they look good in their fights.
I did find it a bit interesting that they brought the Legacy champ and interim champ on the show.
First quarter final puts teammates against each other which shouldn't be a problem given the format of the show is different. And Ceputo won't be a worthwhile cornerman either way.
As much of a favorite as Pantoja is he was too hittable against a lesser fighter in Moreno. If Kai can land one of those bombs, he'll be in trouble.

He looked awful on pads at his home gym.
Benavides made some reference to their being another plot line involving him later in the season.
Not sure what to make of the kid. My wife is black and my son looks NOTHING like her and very much like me (light skinned Latino). Can't really predict what genes will do.

The unpredictable thing about TUF is that anybody can get injured at any time. When that happens fighters can get a second chance at glory.
Could be recessive genes, I was just thrown by the kid calling him by his first name in addition to looking nothing like him.
His only loss in 6 years is to Kyoji Horiguchi whose only loss in the UFC is to Demetrious Johnson. Shooto has a lot of good talent and has produced excellent fighters throughout its history as an organization.
